lfo to filter cutoff, same lfo to filter resonance inverted and same lfo to oscillator pitch can sometimes be fun...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Turning the LFO to "mono" makes it possible to apply this kind of modulation to an entire phrase. And controlling the LFO's rate with the mod wheel or something.

Another interesting thing to do, sometimes, is to have an LFO modulating the main amp's volume (full)with a square wave. And automating it's symmetry produces some interesting tremolo effects. Like cutting the signal into little pieces. Modulating the symmetry is cool to this, because full to the left the signal plays without the effect, while full right is complete silence, in the middle there's equal parts (in length) for signal and silence, hence there's a lot of gradients in between.

Now if you have another square LFO controlling, say, the panning with half the speed, you get a nice alternating stereo effect.

I have no issues myself with making music that sells. It pays the bills & let's me purchase more gear or other cool stuff.

I have played keyboard in a band for the last 2 years that sound like a Coldplay clone. I cannot really stand the music at all, but they get paid regular gigs and it means that twice a week I get around $200 for playing my keyboard for an hour. I also usually get free drinks at the pub/bar & a free meal. On top of which the electro house crap I make for ads brings regular money in as well.

It beats sitting at a desk wishing I was makin music. I'd rather make music I don't enjoy than being stuck in an office or in a factory wishing I could be playing music instead.

you could bounce the synth to audio and reverse it then fade that in to the spot where the synth comes in. I like that. Or play its first note into a massive reverb then bounce and reverse that to the same spot.

as a side note - another way to go about music is to produce music you like with passion and use another job you like to finance that. I play bass in a jazz fusion band at gigs where only get free drinks, no pay, and theres few people there to watch. but i love every second and I get to be the musician I want to be, play whatever crazy notes i like. I dont think there's a right answer - I guess it just depends on what you value.           --
