I spend a lot of time in front the computer making music ,from time to time i just stuck in a certain part of the track (mostly towards the end ) and don't know which way should i go with the track after hour or two of trying i just understand i don't have the muse at the moment and leave this for later.
When i don't have the muse I mostly do one of the next:
1.move to other track (mostly ambient cause i don't do two trance tunes at a time).
2.create sound and SFX and playing around with the synths to get my inspiration back.
3.Go and sit in front of the T.V. and let my brain relax a bit from the circular loop of the track that it just can't take anymore.
Are you familiar with this feeling?? what do you do when you out of muse????

@das fung sorry didn't go your joke but going out is a good option like watching T.V. all in the name of cleaning your head for a while and come back clear!!!!

I usually have inspiration on Sunday. I don't know why. I am always stuck all week and on Sunday everything is so easy.
My best times of inspiration also always come when I have to do something else, especially when I am taking a brake from studying. Maybe because studying makes your brain start working again.
Also, when I am in the process of making a new track and go to sleep, I keep playing the track in my head and new things come in my mind. |

When you are uninspired, you will make uninspired music. This is ok (maybe even recommended) if you want to sound like GMS or Astrix though.

actually, I don't do anything to deal with it. Because only time can deal with this imho.

I know this feeling very well. The best way for me, is to leave the track unnamed until it's about done. Then if I get stuck, I turn out all the lights in my room, and listen to the track so far, with the computer screen OFF
I surrender myself to the music, and let it flow untill the the name of the track pops into my head... Then in the very end of the track, I try to come up with something that suits the new name of the track perfectly... That usually works

Cool amygdala!!!nice one!!!
I guess you right ,one of the problem of being an electro musician who deals with computer sequencer is the fact that sometime you look more then listen that can really kill the muse.....this screen closing thing is a nice method i shell do it very often when i'm stuck....

When inspiration dries up i do things that are boring, but need to be done. Like making sample-maps or organizing samples. And sometimes i put a wav-file of a track i really like into an audiotrack in Cubase SX and then i try and rebuild it using midi. This often gives good ideas for track structure, breaks and stuff like that. |

I think there's nothing to do with it- you can't initiate muse, you can only feel it when you have it.
this is a normal situation, every artist on every genre experience this- if it's have some added value so i mostly having waves work, going out of the studio for some living, eating, smoking, fucking, playing playstation etc.
one more option is that you sometimes earing your track too much then you don't know where to take it anymore- take a break, make the mix sound better(it's always can be better)- in fact i'm in this situation at the moment- i'm working on a very nice track(imo) but after more then 2 weeks of work on about 5 minutes part- i'm taking a break and hope for good. i know i will finish it soon and it will sound good at the end- but this very normal so i just doing other things at the moment.
So does other peoples feel the same- sure.
Take it easy,

Yep... the 'closing screen' does helps you stop listening with the eyes, and start listening with the ears!!! It's worth to do it several times along the 'making' process.
Another thing that helps me a bit is to take a walk (on foot). Because we move mechanicaly by 'instinct', we don't have to think what to do when walking, we even stop at the 'reds' and walk on 'greens' without notice, when we cross the street, lol.
So, this way, by the time I walk, my brain is all music.
Then I just go home and ...voilá!!! Something different comes out.
