Hello all,
In Reason there is a function that lets you select a group of MIDI notes and expand/contract the timing of the notes.
For example, if I have a bunch of half notes I can select them and use this function to change them to quarter notes - it adjusts the spacing automatically.
Is there something similar in Cubase? I would love to be able to select a group of notes and change it to double-time or some fraction of time and have it automatically adjust the spacing of the notes.
Thanks for your help.

This just adjusts the length of the note. The feature in Reason that I'm referring to (can't remember the name off the top of my head) adjusts the spacing between the notes.
So let's say I have a melody that goes for one bar. I can reduce the timing by 50% and the same melody will be spread out over two bars.
It's handy for making triplets and other neat time signatures. |

Two ways. The old way was to use the Logical Editor -> Double Time or Half Time Preset, and the new, convenient SX way is far simpler--highlight the MIDI Part, hit the 1 or ! key twice for time stretch mode with the little clock icon (or click on the arrow icon twice) and then stretch the MIDI part.
Sorted. |

thank you br0d, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Logical Editor looks pretty cool... I will have to investigate this guy.
Thank you both for your help.
