I am using Waves REQ 6 for EQ on my bass. When I use this I notice that the mono signal of the synth (Surge) is turned into a stereo signal with the left channel slightly lower than the right...WTF!

Is there some mono switch that I am missing or what is the deal. I notice this effect with RBass and MaxBass also.

Anyone got any answers. Thanks a million people!           Chillumafia

No that is not the problem...Thanks though...

I notice that this effect gets more noticable with more processing. With Waves this is very evident but also with PSP Vintage Warmer.

I am stumped...I have managed to temporarily work around the problem by panning the signal until both channels are even.

wow, never experienced that...

sure there is no delay when you add the fx? Tried enabling PDC (or whatver its called) and such?

There are easy workarounds (like setting the channel to mono, or opening the processed sound as a wavefile in an editor, and then copy the loudest/quitest channel to the other one...)

Not that I think it should be like this tough, and ive never experienced it...

good luck!           http://www.myspace.com/fragletrollet

I don't use the REQ but it looks like you can control both left and right, are they linked?

If the problem can't be resolved on here, the next time you come to CR, IC bring your lappy.

I have this all the time.
Very weird problem.
The way to work around is, is to send your bass to a mono group channel, and if you would then insert any mono fx, like REQ 6, you will have no problems.

+1 Vipal... Make sure you're using mono versions of the plugins on mono tracks, and stereo version on stereo tracks.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

mmhh, still it sucks...

if the original signal is 'mono' (at least too identical l/r signals) the stereo plug output 'should' be as 'mono' as the input...            Signature
