Make sure you're using the Waveshell version (accessible from the plugin list via the 'Waves' item). You can't automate the DirectX versions from SX.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Good to know that...

Frankly, it'd be a lot easier to automate the SX EQ's, and they're pretty decent. I haven't quite been able to get the SX ones to do the exact things the waves can, but for simple automated sweeps etc, adding a waves EQ might be kind of overkill.

I mean, you could just open the channel window, hit Write enable and record, and just start dragging...

Excellent, then you're well on the way to writing a track that sounds almost good.

hehe... I was pulling your leg. I meant that your track will sound better if you use the best tools you have. Don't accept second-best (and although the SX EQ might be ok, it's definitely second-best compared to Waves REQ).           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Watch out man. Colin is a nasty, cruel, mean-spirited guy. That's why he spends so much time helping us here...
