Waves causing crashes

Yesterday I downloaded the demo of the Waves plug-ins, and they really sound brillant I think.
But too bad, they are causing many problems.
1. They always make Logic to crash.
2. My computer reboots all by itself (without any sign)
Has anyone experienced the same things?
I'm running Win 2000 on a P3 1000 Mhz and 256 RAM. Maybe not enough RAM?
Thanks/Johan

It's a vague shot, but does it happen when you load a plug that require some graphic processing, like analyzers etc? If it does, does it happen when you open other, non-related progs, that also require graphic processing? |

Thanks for your answer, PsyTom
Well, I actually don't think it has to do with the graphics. It crashes after about 5-10 min using different plugs, no matter how advanced graphics they have.
And also it's not only Logic that crashes but even when I'm out of Logic the computer always reboots automaticaly. To check if it's really Waves that is causing it, I have tried to uninstall the Waves. The problem dissappears immediately, and then when I reinstall the problem comes back.
So i have really no idea what the problem is. Perhaps my system is in bad shape and needs to be formated. |

Ok I have now formated and have a clean system. And actually I think it seems to work much better now. Logic only crashes when I'm overusing them (press load very much etc.). And my computer doesn't reboot by it self anymore.
The plugs I like are Enigma, the compressors, the EQ, MondoMod, MetaFlanger and maybe a few others.
Well, I don't think they are essential but I quite like them. But also, I haven't tried many other plug ins (exept GRM tools).
Any recommendations? |

however, to "replace" enigma u can try filtrator ( tc works bundle ) or the autofilter in logic ( best integration anyways...)
an other nice bundle which u should chk is the sonitus from ultrafunk ( modulator, simliar to mondomod and nice eq and comps though i mostly prefere these inside logic ).
...happy plug testing

hi everyone!
i've been experiencing some crashes also with logic and the waves plug ins ( iuse win XP)...
what i've done is go on on the logic file (usually, it's on program files/emagic)
there u should find a plug in enabler program.
click on it, then enable all the plugs that are on the right of the window...i think it's on the right, anyway, it's written enabled and disabled, so just enable them...
i hope this will work for u as it did for me, these plug ins are killers
take care

i bought a brand new computer recently and installed XP, then logic 5.5 first up... then some VSTi's... opened logic and worked fine... then i installed the waves 3.5 and logic wouldn't open (the start screen would initialize then just close)... so i un-installed waves and it works fantastic.... so it seems like there is compatibility issues (nothing to do with an fragged harddrive cos it was brand new with nothing on it but windows, logic and a few vsts) and the processor was well up for it.. but i can live without waves (logic multiband replaces C4... etc.) but i might try the above and see if it works.
