Hello. i am mastering my tracks with waves audiotrack for eq and compression and bbe sonic maximizer.. i wonder if this is a good choice of plugins or u have any other reccomendations?
maybe someone can give me some tips on the settings, i would deeply apreciatte that.
im trying to get a decent quality on tracks so i can play them on parties (still not enough).

sonic maximizer is great tool 4 balancing the track ,
try also some waves renaissance plugs in next order :
1.Req, 2.Rcomp, 3.L2. working with this chain of plugins
can be a good starting point to get nice results in mastering
but don't forget to use the L2 as last plugin in the chain .
there is also C4multiband that considered as very good tool
for mastering but personally i never got good results of
using it.
very important to have good monitors and headphones ,
if u use shitty monitoring don't even bother to try mastering .

hi c3po!
thanx for your reply. i will try those plugs u mentioned.. one thing i didnt understand though.. does using this chain of plugs mean that i dont need to use the sonic maximizer?
by the way i do have a nice set of monitors
(event ps8) so im able to do something about it. thanx man.
uhh another thing.. do you guys master inside the sequencer (in this case cubase sx) or in another independent application like wavelab?

u can add the sonic maximizer before or after compressor ,
and about what program to use 4 mastering it depends on some
stuff like : in cubase u can record automation of plugins , u can
also insert filters in some points of your track and automate it all
but it's actually called "premastering" , so the final mastering u do
in 2track editor like peak,wavelab or soundforge...
