Hey guys....I was analyzing some waveforms of "big producers" and I see the waveform of the kick was with some noise....
My productions the waveform are like a line...
I don't know...but I think the track sound more fat with this noise...

What is it?

Watch Andi Vax series on mixing,he has in on youtube.
Basically, your kick has two parts, click and thump.

Click is the high register of the kick, thump is the "meat" and presence of the kick,it is the low register and that is what you feel in parties hitting your chest.

Usually your basic psy kicks are fast sine sweeps from high to low bassy frequency. So in the beginning you get the "thump",and after the transiest you have the low meat of the kick.

That is the noise of the kick in the beginning. It helps you to know that the kick started, otherwise your kick will sound just like a bass note, and not that defined in the mix. Also, you need it to cut the mix good,so Andi Vax proposition is to layer high frequency plucky sound with the kick, for example hihat.

I'd imagine it would have a lot more to do with the mix than the mastering, but the limiter used in mastering could affect the shape of the waveform. It's how it sounds that's important though!           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

What you are prolly looking is distortion to rise harmonics... try free Tesla Vst

Other possibility is that you are looking at other sounds on the bassline so naturally they sum up and create other waveforms that may seem like "noise" (cymbals for example).
