Sound Forge & WAVELAB has always been the preffered tools by proffesionals. SOUND FORGE 5 is really good, they added MP#3 encoding options and even a cd burning option.
recently i discovered another great editing program- Steinberg's GET IT ON CD very nice interface,a lot of etiting and encoding options plus some effects and shit like that.
but SOUNDFORGE forever rules! |

wavelab tops sound forge in a few cases such as for example, if you cut and delete a part of the wave it doesnt re-calculate the entire thing again. . but I still prefer sound forge..
kris, cooledit is a toy and a cpu eater. dont even waste ur time on it. . |

yo, tsaki, cool edit 96 is free shareware, sure its not great, but if you know what your doing you can use it fine. and i use cool edit pro(cracked version) and this is good for editing wavefiles, perfectly good for professional work, and it was free for me anyway. i use it in conjunction with cakewalk 9, which is what i do all my wav and midi sequencing with, as it happenz |
