Wave Arts only work on DirectX (Big Problem)!!!! Need Help

Hi,
I am having a big problem!!
Why on Vista the waves plugins only work on directx. How can I change that?!
I having a lot of problems because of that, corrupt projects, all the settings of waves plugins lost, after hours of Equalizing, compressing, etc...
Now after crashing a project, I can't open any of waves plug-ins.When I try to open one I have the error:
Directx Wrapper
Waves "RComp"(for example)
Can't find Filter.
Please Register VSTDX.Dll again
I don't know what is this.I already unninstal and install the waves plugs but the problem remain.I change from cubasesx3 to nuendo3 but same error.
Can someone help me?! I really need help, is frustating after hours of work lost everithing, and I need to work whit waves plug-ins at least the diamond bundle pack.

Hey,
I've never encountered this myself (have you searched the web? maybe it's a known Vista issue), but sounds as if (at least) one of the Waves DLLs is not registered.
To register it:
1. Close the sequencer / audio software
2. Searh for VSTDX.Dll in your computer. Can you locate it?
a. If not, try to download it and put it in the Waves plugins folder, or simply search for it in the Waves installation files (the ones you've used to install Waves from) and put it in Waves plugings folder. I hope this folder is indeed its rightful place.. another possible location for such DLLs is c:\Windows\system32
b. Once you have the file in the proper location, register it as described below.
3. Open a command window by typing "cmd" (without the " signs) in the commands row in the Start menu (what used to be Start/Run in XP).
4. In the command window, type the following:
regsvr32 /u [Path to that DLL file)
Where the [Path to that DLL file) should be replaced with the full path to the DLL file (you can just drag it to the command window after typing the "regsvr32 /u" to obtatin its full path instead of typing it)
Following this, run in the command window you've opened:
regsvr32 [Path to that DLL file)
As explained above.
Now the DLL should be registered. Check your issue now.

hey, i don't want to allege anything, but maybe this error appears because of a cracked version of cubase sx 3 / nuendo 3...
i red about such a problem with cubase sx2 and some wave plugins that did not work in the VST interface only with dx !

oh sorry guys...seems like i misunderstood ! i thought wave plugins but you mean wave arts...no experience with those ! sorry !

the try before buy sx3 and nuendo give problems on vista. and the diamond bundle is not wave arts but waves. to upgrade to XP is probably best in your situation. |
