Find a place with a clear kick, put the marker there, warp, then count backwards in bars, put a marker there, and set that marker as "1".

1-2 for most tracks (unless I break them up into smaller session view clips for more "loopiness", in which case, 1-2 markers per clip.

99% of the time when I warp tracks I only need to use 1 yellow marker - the first clean kick. After that's been set and the track has been warped at the correct tempo I go to the end and make sure a grey marker at one of the last kicks is snapped to the grid as well.
Less yellow markers is better - if you need to use a lot of yellow markers you might have the BPM wrong.
However, for older stuff like goa classics where the MIDI clocks weren't stable you need to add yellow markers every 16/32/64 bars depending on the equipment used.

How I do it;
First, right click at the beginning of the track and Warp From Here (Straight)
Find first kick of first full 8-bar pattern (IE the Cue Point), zoom WAY in to the VERY beginning of it, right click and 'set 1.1.1 here'
Find another kick at the end fo the track, make a warp at the beginning of that one, then drag it to the nearest x.x.x to make the BPM a whole number.
In contrast to Will I have maybe 4 tracks that will warp right on the dot from a single marker
Also if you're playing tracks with offtime sections or otherwise not straight-8-bars entirely you might want to instead of making an end-marker, find 9.0.0 and do the same thing with it
Not always this way and depends on your music
