some of you's may be happy to hear that there are remixes in the works - mr mauxman is apparently doing one, fellow label mates pitch black and international observer are onboard and tom&bill are also weighing in with their own re-rubs.
they recently remixed pitch black, and are currently working on two remixes for ali farka toure's son, vieux farka toure. plus, if anyone is in finland this weekend, they are playing at konemetsa. |

Excellent news.
I'm still loving Make Animals Happy.
Looking forward to hearing their tunes reworked and also them reworking other people's tunes.
Good phat heavy dub. |

I bought this album immediately after listening to the samples. Not something I do often, and I am still enjoying it. =) Great stuff indeed! |

Happy to announce the release of the first installment of remixes of tracks taken from Warp Technique’s stellar debut, “Make Animals Happy” ~ the "Make" EP is out on December 14th.
First up is Australian producer, Sensient, who has been making a name for himself with his Zenon label, home to Tetrameth and Shadow FX, amongst others.
Next to weigh in is dub maestro International Observer, who strips the track back to its reggae roots, adding some of his trademarks sounds along the way.
Then Berlin’s A Bear Called Wellington and New Zealand’s Misled Convoy provide two ambient excursions with their versions.
Finally Warp Technique’s remix of Pitch Black’s “Sonic Colonic” is added on, since this stellar remix was overlooked amongst the plethora of tracks released by them as part of the “Rhythm, Sound & Movement” campaign.
You can preview all the tracks at http://www.last.fm/music/Warp+Technique/Make+EP.
In response to previous requests we have put the EP up for sale at http://warptechnique.bandcamp.com/, which allows you to buy in almost all formats at a reasonable price.

Awesome news! Tho i find it odd that the release date is 14 December, yet it is available now... or is that the cd release date?
Either way, i'm stoked that it is there! Cheers!
The samples sound the goods!

yeah that confused me too, I've just downloaded all 5 in flac format for £1.99 - which is a very good deal. Loving the Sensient remix. |

first up, thanks to all of you who have downloaded this already from bandcamp - your support is much appreciated by us and the warp technique crew
the release date is when the tracks go up on all the mainstream download platforms - we put it up on bandcamp as well as it gives us all a lot more control over the release, not least in allowing you to download flac files (or org vorbis etc) for no extra cost
at the present moment in time there are no plans to make a cd out of the remixes, but all that might change when we have all the remixes in - so far we are halfway through the 2nd ep and are looking for remixers for the 3rd one (please contact me if interested). i would very much like to make a cd, but it is up to bill and tom from wt to decide on that. |
