For those who have seen their live show at festivals such as Sonica, Universo Paralello or Glade, the debut album by Warp Technique is a long awaited tonic. For those who haven’t, a world of pleasure awaits!

Sounding like a double-dipped Trentemoller, Warp Technique weave divergent genres into their psychedelic stew: the album opens with the eerie Softly Spoken Spell, full of sounds from an ambient jungle; Nowhere Dub lulls one into a trance with its seductive bass and soothing synths before the bassline heaven of Make Animals Happy kicks in.

Nightbreak steps up the pace, progressing from a downbeat intro into a pulsating beast, complete with old school synth riffs – definitely one for the dancefloor; Wonderland Dub kicks back a gear, in a delightfully bass fuelled skanking kind of way, before History of Dreams and Whale Salt Dog (how do they come up with these names?!) resume the journey to another world, eventually arriving at the epic Arab Star, an organic odyssey of progressive beats, “world”ly samples and psychedelic motifs.

Solid State takes an inspirational speech by Martin Luther King, and weaves it into chunky breakbeats and cheeky acid lines, while Warp Dub 5 and Valley of Kodama prepare for the unfortunate return to reality – the album is over ……

All in all, an excellent adventure, full of innovation and contrast, with never a dull moment.

But don't take my word for it: you can download a rerub of one of the tracks from www.myspace.com/dubmissionrecords or http://www.sendspace.com/file/v6kbn9.

yep, this definately does it for me - this is full of fat delicious sounds, can't see how anyone vaguely interested in psy downbeat wouldn't like it.

Great variation in pace and style of tracks, just how a full sounding album should sound. Nightbreak is just sooo fat and squelchy, slow-mo trance from heaven. Wonderland gets cheeky and psychedelic with a great Alice in Wonderland sample before the dub starts to really trip out. History of Dreams is sublime subterannean downbeat with a heady atmosphere, I think the samples are Timothy Leary which I haven't heard used before so they fit the track well, don't sound over used.

Never a dull moment indeed, dubmission quickly becoming one of my favourite labels.            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

Arrived this morning and it's every bit as good as the samples suggested.

Highly recommended.

a great album, i have enjoyed it thouroughly. has a very classic feel and some seriously great moments. cant wait to hear it on a big system, my ipod headphones are not quite enough for what i can tell would be just huge bass and atmospheres.

I really need to quit reading these threads before I go broke. Samples sound great and the reviews are all positive. I found it impossible not to order. Can't wait until it arrives.

haha, hope you enjoy Techmonk, I'm really very pleased with this release - I'm a fussy fu**er when it comes to music and this really delivers the goods. It's heavy shit            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

Sure is. You can find it at: https://www.necodo.com/

I finally finished downloading it from there last night, so I got a quick listen to some of the tracks whilst I had breakfast this morning. Wish I coulda stayed and kept listening, but had to head to the office.

Necodo seemed kinda slow to download from this time around, and the downloads stopped a few times, which is annoying, but i got there in the end. And it was reasonably priced too.

If you have more dollars than sense then you can find it at Beatport too I think.

Listened to it about five times since yesterday. Solid album. Some parts of it feel very much like something Dr. Alex Patterson and Blowfish might create together. Really happy with this.
