All people who got questions are welcome to PM us.
And again INgrooves is one of the biggest distributors, so, that's something unique right there.
But please. All questions (Sarcastic or Interesting) PM.
This thread is not for Flaming please.
Respect our request. |

I used Ingrooves for 4 years until they hired a arrogant self-centered twat who ruined a lot for our now ex. label. After we quit working with them (now 3 years ago) they still haven't removed all of our releases from shops which is now up to me to figure out (Major pain in the butt) as they still collect royalties from these releases and don't pay them to us (The music is not ours anymore - it belong to the artists). Just a small warning regarding a once very good distributor that went down the wrong road.
Good luck
By the way...any artist can set up his own "label" (just pick a name) these days and get their music distributed without any label involvement (earnings are better this way as there are no labels involved) via example.

At Beat Agency, sorry to hear that.
Hope you get over that.
May I ask who is the "Twat" you mentioned?
Also, why did you work 4 years with them? and did not quit after the first or second year?
Why dont you do something legal to arrange what you are upset about?
We, live here in the USA, so if they do something tricky, it will be easier to get legally involved.
But please.
I requested in a pollite way to stop flaming the thread, it's ment for releasing artists.
If you have opinions and such, open one and do your thing.
Thanks.

Post in promotional media if you don't want anyone discussing your topic. This is the general forum and we talk about things here.

It should be quite obvious (to you too) that the first 4 years worked fine but that their actions caused us to leave.
The guy in mention does not work with them anymore so don't worry.
And I am quite relaxed. Just giving you a friendly warning that when errors happens (and they do make errors) they have a very hard time admitting their mistakes.
And yes as Basilisk said. This is a forum for debate. If you can't handle to be criticized or asked questions regarding why you should be the label an artists should join (You still haven't told those who asked why you are better doing the job than any other bedroom label out there) or that people debate with you then I'll also suggest you post in the Promotional forum.

So what do you really offer, other than a chance to be promoted by a relatively unknown label (to me) on a couple of digital download sites of dubious effect. I know at least half a dozen that are offering the same, what is your unique selling point, what are you going to do for the artist that is above and beyond what the others are offering?
I wish you all the best with your venture, but it does make me stroke my chin a bit.

Yo dawg, why does it have to be uniqe and something special really? He just offering artist to release their music on hes lable wich imo have worked very proffesionally so far, if they sounds alright. On a great digital distributed deal. Wich i think many people who makes music would find intressting, atleast so do i. Many people are looking for tracks for their new lable here and there but not many are offering this kind of release deal, mostly are just "free net releases" without this serious distribution thingy, wich could actually bring in some money. =)
So i think the thing he's offer are pretty good enough to send in some shit you've made for a try.
btw, warp brain rec, i didnt say i will master my compilation myself, though i might aswell do it. But i didnt decide that yet =)
cheers!

Hi guys
I'm little out of the discussion about digital media & distribution of it, but I'm curious about one thing.
There are 2 models of digital distirbution
- for free (on Ektoplazm for example)
- payable (beatport, juno) where price for whole album in wavs is equal or even higher then cd
But, did someon ever tried model selling full album for extremly cheap donation. Like 1,50 EUR for example? Is it possible that this kind of sales can generate lot of downloads & much more income than from major digital stores?
I'm asking, cause there's lot of articles about popularity of cheap games, like those on FB, where for play You have to buy something, for a very low amount & millions of people doing this. Can it work also in digital music? |

Yes IF you can get enough visitors to find your website and then to donate. That's the very tricky part
