Never heard of this problem. For all I know, ME is considered as having better midi timing than 98. Anyway - 1)Did you install cracks? 2)Did you try winMElite? |

I am not an expert in computers, but as far as I heard from experts - It is not the best idea to use windows2000/NT for making music - these platforms are not 100% compatible, may become unstable and there are various programs that wont work full power on these platforms. Win 98 is the most stable basis for making music on PC these days |

u should check the version of windows Me that was installed on the pc that crashed. also check the hardware and chipset if they r the same. maybe the driver is not the exact one. or the cracks worth checking. |

Hmmmm. thats weired. in my opinion ME is working better than 98 i think its a more stable system and i havent had problems with it yet. We have 2 computers packed with software and its running great i dont know what to say. I think windows is not a great OS anyway as far as crashing and all that everyone knows that, but you should make it a habit of backing up your stuff often anyway.
hmmmm... wish you luck though that sucks im sorry. |

Go to Windows control panel, double click add remove program, click on windows setup tab, then double click on connectivity/communications, if you have Internet Connection Sharing listed, it's SE, if not, it's first edition. |

everything worked fine on ME too... audio applications and the rest too.
Weird...
Anyway: micheal: right click on my p.c and check the version. |

1. for the one that asked how to know which ver of win98 - right click my computer icon and choose properties and u'll see some details including version.
2. for the problems u said u have with winMe - if u installed DirectX8 u'll probably get some problems because DX8 has a lot of bugs with audioapps so i think this is the problem.
3. Win2000 is a very stable and works much better than winme/98 because it works in a diffrent way but win2k isnt supported by a lot of audioapps so i recommend installing both of them if u can. |
