As a student, steinberg stuff is about half the price. I registered for the cubase.net forum a few days ago so I need a valid usb-key. Look me up if you want to, moron. NI stuff also comes at about half the price... 199 for kontakt2.
As for my reaction, I never encountered one virus, worm or other bad stuff with freeware vst's. It's not because you can download them for free that they are actually freeware. The developer would be either a complete retard to put worms in his vst or his vst has been leeched.

Ill sell you my USB key for Cubase if you want, got a spare one. but it probably came with the Cubase Box.

Here's a little effort to explain my vision:
I've been spending a lot of money for stuff I like with hard earned money from my students job in the vacation, this over more than 7 years. I fully understand people try things before they buy them, especially if you're on a tight budget but if you really like them you should buy them. I can't understand the greed of some users here, and other boards.
There are people having 100+ downloaded professional plugins/sequencers/fx/... making total crap others who make kickass tunes with fl and some free vsts. Some weeks ago there was a guy @ TA presenting a shitload of vsts (including atmosphere, most NI stuff, ...) asking how to make pads.
About my first reaction, I've allready explained that I don't think vsts with worms/virusses are legally downloaded. I've tried loads of them and never encountered a single one in my entire life. And there hasn't been posted a name of an infected vst yet.

To all: THX for showing the interest for my warning. Like I said and I will repeat I suspect that lousy freeware VSTs that dont do much cause the problem.. And I havent got any precise VSTs that I could name.. sorry
My catalog of 303 cleaned VSTs is available in the other topic.
To: trancepsyde and piko_bianko, THX for info. could u post direct links for download of those files in zip since I cant download exe?
