War and Peace, Chapter 1 is ON for tomorrow, Monday March 17th, 10pm-4am! at Flamingo East, a two story club at 219 Second Avenue between 13th and 14th, 21+.
We have two different rooms/great sound systems for a free party with 2 strains of trance and other music. We have so far 8 DJs, Ben Light-o-matic doing intelligent lighting for the War Room, Israelis, Russians, Atmic Juice doing projections, and artists for the War area and the Peace areas.
We need everyone to come out and show their support for however they feel about war in Iraq. This is a free party but there will be donation buckets to help defray my costs. If this works out we will do it as long as the war effort continues. So please, everyone, please come help us make this "winning" concept a reality.
It's St Patrick's Day, the day the US may strike Iraq, and Purim, the Israeli halloween, so there should be an insane crowd.
The official flyer is going out tonight. If you want to get involved in any way call me at home tonight 718-686-2753 or tomorrow at 646-752-5456.
Some ideas:
Peace Train Station upstairs, with melodic trance, Beatles, 60s music, antiwar music, incense, chai, candel vigil, peace signs, shamanistas, drums, flowers, belly dancers, indian tapestries, guitars, amiley faces, particpatory art, petitions, Michael Brownstein reading from World on Fire.
The War Room downstairs will have Dark Soho, Parasense, har guitar trance, techno, hardcore, punk rock, subtle chaos, projections of war footage, intelligent lighting, alcohol, omstikas, a fluoro Amerikan flag, miltary garb, water guns, smells of airplane glue, bondage gear, whips, chains, cigarette smoke, and vodka.
I already have 15 people working for this, and we need everyone to come together to really make it happen. If we get enough people - 150-200 - we will do this every three weeks. So don't stay home on this most important of days! Tell everyone you know, fwd this email to the world. Flyer out tonight.

I was there, The music downstairs was good as long as the israeli's were in charge of it... the begginig of gamma goblins 2 original version started and then all of a sudden the "free" party was stopped, and an annoying guy and girl got on a megaphone and started barking about money.... this went on for about 10 minutes and drove me completely out of my purim groove. Jason came on next and gave a techtrance or something like that set that was not well mixed or too danceable.... the room upstairs had good music but a poor soundsystem so it sounded like noise. the upper room too was not spared the interruption and again megaphone man got on and did his thing. this happend again downstairs and i just left with my friends. boo!           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

Well yonatan, they didnt! the room downstairs was "war" it had a good sound system. but it was hardly war.... silicon sound and such is not fighting music for me... for me i need a good dark soho or 3 point turn or pps project delta and such... music to bite the walls, music to bash my head on the toilet! but there was none. Jason from Spectra played an odd techno set, wasnt even trance in my opinion. upstairs was good psy music, i recognized some beat hackers and stuff like that, the problem was that the sound system was ultra poor and rather than sounding like music it sounded like noise with all the people takling over it.... oh well.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

I was the organizer of War and Peace Chapter 1. For the flyer and incredible lineup check out http://www.brainmachines.com/WarandPeaceChapter1.html
I was the annoying man on the microphone in the War Room asking for donations to the War Chest. I was the guy wearing the Omstika armband and the headlamp. We were experimenting, we din't want to be a Tsunami and ask for $35 then rip you off, we decided to wait til the free party was kicking, THEN ask for donations to do it again. And we will! The party was the best we'd done in a long while and I hope to see ya'll again!

The Israeli DJ that everyone loved was Roco (Roy Moav)
Ori was a no-show
Jason is not part of Spectra, he has been with SubtleChaos that plays hard techy trance and has done a lot of bridge parties back in the day.
I personally played all Tim Schuldt and Dark Soho, that was early in the evening... i feel sorry for the late late israeli crew who came in to a Hardcore set in the War Room

Our next party is this Friday,
http://www.brainmachines.com/goatrash.html
and we're gonna get DJ Roco (Roy Moav) to play again, he rocks
and don't worry, we won't ask for donations in the middle of the party, we'll just be conventional and charge latecomers and men without drums at the door!
