It's not like I thought he was out sampling "world music" songs or creating all that atmosphere/digeridoo himself, I knew he must be using some samples.
Apparently the guys from Deep Forest do go travel about and sample real people singing and playing drums/etc, but also sample records/cds from other countries. Which I think is cool too.
The difference between this and Daft Punk though is pretty wide.
not to act as the protecting mum here but, you could have them stored in iso onto your hardrive and read them with daemon tool. or convert them to wave and keep them on the hd. hell there are hundreds of akai soundbank on the net converted to wave ready to download.

Common guys ! I mean, how many live you see people pretending to play keyboard or what ever. its all part of the show. I mean i know i find it absolutly ridiculous, especially when its so obvious ,sometime its well done, who gives a crap then. I love a good live set where artists would actually come up with some stuff while playing but i know for fact that many don't even bother.
I never went to see sphongle live and that's a real shame cause I love these guys music and to this I add, what is there to complain about. I'm already so greatful to Raja and Simon for all the good emotion I felt while listening to their music. like zorba these are classics ......
For crying out loud ! I just realised what we're talkin about...... I mean how many psychedelic producer since the very early goa did not rely on sample for different things ..... like speech, vocals , vocal harmony or pads, sound fx........
????? i don't follow ........ whats the big deal here. its just a choice, a creative process... nothing new, nothing shockin. its been done for a long time and it will continue for a long time.

if you do some research you ll get to find some of their interviews, will find out what gear they use ...... the first album of daft punk was released in 1997 do you really think that was computer music ? I mean the use of computer is been there for a while but computer music is relying only on a computer more or less do make a piece and in 97 you did not have analog sounding synth or analog sounding vsts.
there sound sounds analog and analog does not mean using a mood modular but also ext hardware gear like thermionic culture vulture Valve Distortion Unit, or mutators, old pedals..... . they do and i can hear it.

well first off all...to create a hit is not only about gear and music knoweledge but also about promotion, lots of money and lot of stuff !
I worked, and i still work for almost 15 years in the commercial music buissnes as music composer for lots of bands and artists, and belive me: in the psy trance scene i meet peoples who can make music 10 times better that any of all this bullshit superstars !
But again and again...it is all about promotion, money and advertising !
As more simple and childish is the music, as more are the chances to become a hit !
But this won't happent if there is nobody in the back, to push a lot of money.

I wanted to say that if you compare to movie Industry I like the huge movies like lord of the rings but some way out low budjet movie can also blow me away and I want to think that I can respect both of the directors not just because one is famous and the other is not. However there are also porno's and soap opera's in abundance and I find it harder to respect the mentality behind these kind of works. I tend to find that the less I have to do with them the better though and so I don't watch tv so what is my point? Well, what is your point? I don't understand so much of this world and it is getting worse. So make a song with daft punk if you like them that would be cool or go and see the people who can sing with two tone voices for yourself or even just go for a walk around the block. Stop all this spacing out in front of a computer all day it's not good for your brain's. Whew, thats better, I got some stuff off my chest sorry about that everybody my mom hijacked my subconcious for a while there! Need new antivirus.

one thing is sampling and another is rip off.
daft punk latest stuff like the ones showed in the vid is far from creative sampling and its plagiarism. i dont know how some people fail to see it like that. sure they have a nice production (money can buy u that) but the musical creativity is none. i used to like daft punk like 10 years ago, but now i think their music is way to kmart stuff to me.
About Raja Ram and fake singing to samples, haha i know it is a show and when ure fucked up on mdma u dont give a fuck even enjoy it, but cmon this is why he have shit live acts, cause we tolerate it and dont demand a real show. i mean it doesnt have to be live but then we coud have just simon posford play and itll be cheaper, why pay for lipsinging and all that crap? is this american psychedelic idol or WTF???
