Hi, i m moving soon, and i want some toughts of how to get into the scene and how to get books at parties etc.

What would be the best thing to do? Making a good quality recording of a dj-set and send the cd to the labels that organize the parties? What would be other options to get started?

Also i want to know of how many time should have my djset, how many time do they normally have or it varys depending on the partie etc

Also have some questions about the dj process that i would like to read some toughts.

hom many of u use samples in ur dj sets? can be voice samples or even melodies, effects and stuff that you record and do by your own and drop on ur djset when it is proper. if u do can u describe how often and ur process to make everything tight

one last question is if its ok to play the main theme of the track (i mean the main, final explosion) as i see most of djs makin the transition before the final meat comes

peace

i doubt recording and sending dj sets work, most organizers and labels are probably flooded with promos and demos these days. But i might be wrong, we are also flooded with organizers and labels so give it a shot

Connections and networking are the keys to success i guess.

About the time, most dj sets are ~2 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less. But playing less than 2 hours is useless imho.

And yes, its okay to play the meat of the track, you can play any part you prefer

thank you dennis.

i dont know anyother way to get started besides recording a good dj set and sending it to people that organize the parties...

also i tought there was some kind of ``ethic`` rule that only the live act could play the meat of the tracks.

thanks

there´s a good forum for dj sets here on isratrance, maybe you could be lucky that someone finds out about you there. recording a mix is sure a good way, just make sure it gets downloaded by many and you will hopefully get good feedback.
But i doubt sending a physical cd would do the thing.

Another thing is to try to get you mixes played on internet radios. eilo.org for example
