i never knew the Q was sounding so good..no real experience with it just playing with it in stores years ago..was dreaming about it and the xt with friends but it was so fucking expensive..i find the Q can sound like pure digital goodness from dirty to clean, pristine or lofi...
have to check the xt more closely now after so much years ,some say it sound even better !

i always loved my mw xt.
many years it was my only digital polysynth. and i wanted to get the q as well. as soon as you get into it, you realize ore and more the deepness of these synths.

unfortunately i decided to sell the mw mostly for practical reasons, but i miss some features of the sound so much that i am looking into buying largo to get that charactere back.
i still have to try the demo.

the q+ phoenix edition must be a monster, but i'm absolutely not into large keyboards.

retrosound32 (or similar) has some nice waldorf demos on youtube, iirc.

vember-audio surge (vsti) has a lot of character of MW, especially the filters sounds brilliant! plus feedback block that adds a lot of analogue character. dont miss it, it's a great peace of (forgotten) software.

peace!

Had it in the London studio.

Its not bad, but I would get a Virus TI over it, mainly because of the granular and formant oscillators.
Haven't used the Q+ which is supposed to have like 16(?) analog filters...that would be interesting....In any case I always preffered the much more limited, but much better sounding midi retro fitted Juno 60, over the Q and over the A6.

Peace out.

never used the Ti , the granular and formant osc is that good?

this guy ti demo have a few amazing patch but i didn t like as much the overall sound, when switicing back to the Q demo the highs are more pristine ,could be his programing but the virus line can sound rather dark

i was almost sold on the blofled it was sounding good to me but now i listened to the Q i can t buy one !

now i remmeber why i was in love with this synth but it sound rather lofi vs the Q it s maybe you tube video that make this or processing/fx dunno.. his Q demo really piss on all his other digital synth demo to me in term of sound maybe it s better recorded/encoded dunno or the Q just sound better and make the rest sound crap..there is also some really impressive patch in the q demo, it s personal taste but i think i never heard a digital synth sounding that good than on these impressive patch, the highs can sound beautiful, warm in the low mids.. good depth ...digital but in a way that sound great

Yes, the reason being that you get completely new sounds than the sounds you'd get from a normal subtractive synthesis synthesiser...bare in mind that you can go into FM with the new oscillator of the Virus where you get completely new sounds.
It is the main reason why I kept the TI and use it so much in our tunes lately.

Peace out.

I mostly program it from the GUI. It is not very stable, I do get the out of time arps where I need to save the arrangement and probably stop and play 3-4 times, but it does not happen often enough to put me off.
It really is a workhorse synth.
