i use a blofeld but since its the same synth suggest you to check the comb filters with positive/negative feedback (play with the resonance and filter) and the distortion curves (tube, clipping, pickup) they are really unique, the envelopes are really fast , might have clicks on the attack (its nice cause its really fast) and four different envelopes are sick, its an amazing all around synth with all these, especially for pads, youll spend months on this beast the GUI looks fantastic too

I'm planning on getting it in the future...The demos I've heard sound really great. It's got a sound thats missing from my current setup (no waldorf stuff).

Maybe let us know what you think about it again once you've played with it for a while?

I heard some basic filter sweeps and the filter sounds very very good. I'm excited too, but I have to a wait a bit, just bought a new desk.           ~Airyck~

Do the waldorf synths work for bass and lines?
Or is a more analogue modeled synth required?

Btw: Can you export banks to a blofeld with this? That would be awesome.

gutter and PsiloCybian: I'm thinking about getting myself a Blofeld tabletop. What are your impressions of it and are you pleased with it? Is it worth the money?            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden

Positives:
Filters, comb filtering, Parallel filters and Panning on filters
Lots of different types of distortion types and curves
Ultra fast envelopes, different envelopes
like ADSDSR etc
Another advantage is that most of the parameters have negative values which are really interesting
The oscillators are very nice too and has all the waveforms from microwave which can be really nice for pads etc
Has three lfos

It is a small thing with really huge capabilities

Negatives are:
Low volume output, Waldorf has released some new firmware that raised the volume to +6db, but still some sound cannot sit in the mix unless you overdrive them but if you mix at lower volumes there wont be a problem at all (its not that bad but its not compared to other synths that have always power to give )

Another minus could be some of the effects, like the reverb and chorus a bit, the sound somehow does not sit very good with the on board effects, that may be not a problem again if you use low values or if use them as reference maybe

So far im pleased with it, cause its a budget synth after all and for its money, worth every penny imho

But now that the largo is out and as far as ive seen/read it the same engine/algorithm with blowfeld and maybe this one has better output than the hardware, only that

I would worry about that (the volume matter) if its going for a live use where you will surely need the extra power, this is an issue (probably the only one)

Else go for the Largo with a midi controller and youre done

Thanks gutter. The demo snippets and reviews were all very convincing. Discussed the Blofeld with a couple of friends of mine who have it and it seems to be what I'm looking for so I just closed a deal on a second hand unit for 240 €. It'll be an awesome "welcome home" gift to myself, having travelled since the beginning of February and now looking forward to spending some time in the studio playing around with some new toys...            Aural transmissions from the deep forests of Sweden

Hello....can anyone give me more reviews of largo....
Ive been a long time Surge user and now ive gone the legal way and looking at purchasing either surge or largo.....ive always loved surges interface, wavetables and waveshaper function but its filters and envelopes never wowed me...suge is great for wierd digital sounds..but sometimes when u want that fatness it just doesnt deliver...i wish waldorf would get a demo ready already!!!
