I got to spend an hour playing with this sucker yesterday at lunch time and think I"m in love... especially at the price... had some nice sounds and was pretty easy to use... I know there are a few issue to besorted out from reading revies and forums online... but was wondering what ny people who have played with or own it think?
am thinking of getting it later this year... then purchasing the Virus TI in '09...

Havent tried it. But was planning to get one until i realized it doesent have any type of software so u can use it like u use a vsti in your host. (Like the Virus TI have.) Also, would be nice if u could use the usb for audio,(and not only midi) like the Virus.

after some serious thinking and talking to my local retaler I"m going to just settle for now with a novation xio synth and vst's... and start putting aside cash for the Waldorf Stromberg... that beast will set me up quite nicely for most my projects (I'm running sofar 4 different projects, 3 personal and 1 in an industrial metal band)...

for $400? i dont think so.. and i think it does have and editor. I think its a very cool gadget and innovative design and for the price is a nobrainer. too bad isnt available anywhere near here.

Hm..well,i guess it`s a very nice synth..but regarding the webside upwards there is no information about a special vst/Au plugin to edit the sounds..but they point out the graphic display wich supposed to be very comfortable...i think it rocks..would love to own one of these..

what im trying to say is that not every synth has to jump on the total integration bandwagon. ok is nice to have it , but hows that different from a dsp powered and dedicated midi controller dongle? . it wouldnt be very practical if every synth unit was TI. i love vst and internal mixing as hell, but for me these non TI harware is still sexy.
ps /// nah i cant get it on US shops or e bay...... darn!!! aa im in mexico... www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/ |

i saw an email recently (answering a customer's query) in which Waldorf said that they were planning on developing greater integration for the Blofeld.
i'm sure the role of the USB connectivity can be expanded (possibly to include more audio streams; after all, even with nice EQs it doesn't make much sense having a multitimbral synth which has just one stereo output).
oh, and my partner is getting me one for my birthday |
