totaly different.. TI rocks and blofeld sucks..
its just a try by waldorf to get back on the market but never compare a blofeld to a ti..honestly waste of time..

got a good friend who got one..and is really annoyed about it..crashes all the time..and well..not worth to spend on..from my point of view..

As far as i know, the first Blofeld's OS was very buggy. That is the reason of crashes. Maybe they have updated it, check waldorf forums...

i guess its okay looking, they should have added more knobs all they did was add a keyboard bed , BLAH
definitly just something to keep em in business,
regardless of its intent i still like the waldorf company...
the Q+ to be exact and the stromberg  are both sexy ass fuck boards, and they do have nice filters,
give em their credit i sure missed them when they went out of business its good to see such a good company get back on their feat, im sure they have alot of cool stuff more to come let em get more situated again in the market...

I don't like keyboard version of ANY synth. I don't buy a nord wave because of the keyboard.
One midikeyboard, all I need are rackversions. If its after me, EVERY synth has no keyboard and is rackmountable.
I don't know how the blofeld sounds. though..

i have the blofeld and i love it more and more, the new os works stable, only the presets are not all good but you just have to wind a few knobs and you get awesome fresh sounds out of it!

Guess it's not quite the 'budget' synth anymore. At that price i'd rather go for a Nord Lead 2x.

Well apparantly they added 60mb of sample memory. Perhaps trying to compete with Nord Wave?
FYI, I have both a TI and a blofeld and while some patches sound similar (the Howard Scarr ones especially), the Blofeld is a lot more metallic and "clangy" than the Virus. Overall the wavetables are better IMO that the ones on the virus, and the overdrive options make it easy to create these nice digital textures. The Virus does more and is a "better" VA synth but for the price the 2 complement themselves I think.
I don't use ideas. Every time I have an idea it's too limiting, and usually turns out to be a disappointment. But I haven't run out of curiosity. -RR |
