Are there any VStis and FX that are a must learn to make sounds? I mean, The MOST IMPORTANT ones.

I read a post somewhere where they were talking about learning and mastering maybe 10 or 15 Vsts ONLY and using those to make your tunes.

Is that true? I'm a beginner, and i'm still learning...

All help and responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

well it is true. practise makes champion.
yes it is true that you should try and learn it by yourself.

when you can 2-5 vst's TOTALLY. then you can do what ever you want with those. and that's about it... hehe

everyday when you practise and try you learn new things! isn't that fun? more fun than getting directly answers

no it is not fun when there is something like a sound and/or a melody or effect sitting in youre head and u r trying to make it but u dont know how and u r not even close to it.
it is more simple to learn and play with things when u have hardware and u see all things and u can touch every knob and not with the fu*&^ mouse

There are the core effects that you should learn inside and out - try to stick with a good instance of each to learn how to use it powerfully.

Reverb, delay, compression are the big three, I use Waves Trueverb, Waves Supertap, and Waves C1 most of the time. But then these three effects are more useful for making a lush soundscape with many audible parts rather than making 'neat effects'. Beyond these three is a very vague area - there are so many VSTs out there!

Perhaps if you describe a particular effect someone could suggest what VST(s) were used to make it?

aloah b...

first, learn the plugs inside your seq. -they should be very good integrated ( bug as cpu-wise ).
also use search about the specific plug ( delay, filter, bassline,...) so u ll c what other ppl using. -each has it s advantages...
about vsti's chk

- ni- pro 53
- ni- battery
- lingplug- albino
- muon- tau pro
- rgc- z3ta
- refx- vanguard

if u re more advanced n unsatisfied with them, chk theese out too:

- novation v-station
- ni - fm 7
- ni absynth
- ni kontakt
- ni vokator
- ni reaktor
- arturia-moogs
- vaz modular
- steinberg x-phraze
- virsyn family

...but really, u ve to chk them out all each has it s advantages/character...
take care about plugs made with synth-edit. some of them work pritty good, though some can give cpu-peaks...
