U mean just the fx-section? I don't think so, but some plugins got a fx-version of itself like the FM7. This one u can use as fx and u can use ur audiotrack as carrier or modulator for fm synthesis.
But the vanguard is not avaible as fx.
Peace

Yeah depends on the VST. I know Absynth can be an effect. You can tell easily because if you click the menu where you normally would connect Waves, Ohmboys, etc, you will see the Synths you can use as FX. |

yeah i knew all of that... just thought to maybe work around that problem in some way.
if vanguard wouldve had this, it quite possibly couldve been the best vst synth ever.

tell that to refx, it's up to them to make the fx version. |

Do you have any midi gaters gadi??
I find that the midi gaters are a bit easier to deal with as opposed to the onboard trance gate especially for automating the gate or having the gate do different patterns... The delay is pretty good too, but I usually use the Ohmboyz as well..

What MIDI gates are you using right now? I was using the sidechain one in Logic but I've been needing a new method since switching to Cubase SX... there's probably one built in but I keep getting sidetracked and not investigating...
The new version of the Vanguard has an awesome stereo-gater. Indeed it would be great if you could use that.

But I do agree that the vanguard is really the "trance in a box" synth. I have never had so much ease programming lead lines and psychedelic atmospheres than with the Vanguard... And it's cheap too....
