Could anyone recommend a vst for making hats...for now I'm using ES2 from Logic but haven't been able to tweak it right...

I think z3ta+ and Pentagon (free) have both presets for hats.

i'd go for the samples option too...though i sometimes use drumatic vst which is free by the way

EYB - Pentagon is not free. Triangle is, and it rocks. One of my favs.

i recon samples... more manageable and more variety imo. Makes things sound slightly more organic as well which can be a nice break from just synthesis.
