hi hyperionix1,

tell us what software you use, so we might be able to help you to achieve your goal with the software you already got.

you can do this with your sequencer, with a wav editing program as mentioned by astrotec.

cheers           $ exp(j*pi) + 1 = 0. $

hehe, now this a nice one ...

you can achieve this by different methods.
I am guessing he did some filtering with a filter that introduces offset. That means that you kinda add to the waveform a little dc which makes the "dent".

But in general this can happen by adding the dc offset as a very loooooooowwww frequency signal at the right point with the right envelope and amplitude.
Also (most of the time) this is made just by ear and the author liked it this way *lol*... (he didnt look on the waveform to have it look like this on purpose)

I am pretty sure I forgot to mention the 10million other ways to achieve something similar to this.

Ne1 else up for guessing ?

I'm with xaBBu!

There are so many ways to do this...

But what I think you want to do is to simply add EQ to the song. Find a normal 3 band EQ and you can control the "volume" of your bass, mid and high.

You can also add 2 filters, one with low band pass and another with high band pass, so you can cut off the lows and highs.

OR,

Devide the sample into 2 identical samples. Then, cut off the highs on one and the lows on another. Than you just have to normaly envelope the volume on each sample.. Try it!

Hope I helped..

... at the first glance I thought exactly the same thing. But vince, best if you take a look at the screenshot he posted:

He is not talking about the two channels of a stereo file but means the positive/negative value areas... every sample of a positive voltage around zero is "top", and any sample with a negative voltage is "bottom". The screenshot explains it at first glance

there is no sepration in the up side/low side...
the wav graph is a representation of the waveshape,
if you want you can use the pencil tool in sf/wavlab, to mess with the waveshape but this induces distortion.

also this wave indeed looks like it has dc offset. just filter the extreme lows with a phase linear eq to center it somewhat.

ups .. sorry, i missed the link
i thought it would be to make something with the positive and negative values...
i don't believe it's possible to control separately the "+" or "-" part of the signal... except like said faxinadu .. with some pencil work.
strange idea... i don't see what it could be useful for.
