Acid Pro 4 and 5 both have Beatmatching wisard, that will help you calculate the tempo of vocal track and match it with the global tempo of the track without affecting its pitch. You can also stretch it, change pitch, and Acid pro 5 has groove control feature that will let you complitely rearange/restretch any given audio sample to something unique and original. Oh and all this - real time

@ lord: i think he was asking for cubase.

@ nighty: well, i don´t know cubase, but in logic this function is called "time + pitch machine" with this audio files can be bpm changed or pitched...

but i mostly make such things with feeling. so i have some vox in a track that are not really sync to the melody....but i don´t care LOL

I would suggest using Ableton Live.... I've used it to stretch some vocal samples that I didn't know what the bpm was and that seemed to work pretty well...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

If you read the original post you'll see that question wasn't "how to do it only in cubase", i still hold my opinion valid.

cheers
