I get new CD's all the time and there are a few great tracks and then all of a sudden there are some on the same CD with some super cheesy vocal lines over and over- what a dancefloor killer. If they could only be rounded up , stuck on a different cd and taken out and shot
ok processed vocal samples are great- but I agree- keep psytrance Psy           Trance is the answer

This is nonsense, as long as the vocals are in the 'psy' vibe, there's nothing wrong with a bit of diversity people.

Total agree panorama.

I understand there are likes for every one, regarding to vocals on the tracks, in my opinion, psytrance has to maintain an interesting and psychedelic feeling, and sometimes these female housey vocals cut the feeling of the track making it commercial and not really psychedelic... it puts you out of the psychedelia and the trance....

For example, Star-X I believe is a grat psytrance band, fully psychedelic and hi-tech, but when these voices of them singing appears, sounds to me like too commercial and loose the psychedelia creating a "cheezy trance dance" to be more on extasy or cocaine than not on LSD (thats just an example, regardless if u are taking something or not...) but with these big productions and experience they have, I believe they want this commercialism in their music.... but they are more like a rock star....

I would love to mix their music, cause is great, but during the first 3 minutes, and I got the last CD, but as in almost all the tracks appears this commercial feeling after the 3 minutes I don't even mix them... well, thats all just about styles and feelings...

Doof! Doof! Doof!

yeah man,
Star-X - perfect example, Older star-x is great stuff...what happened?
Quadra - Seratonia was a kick ass CD, but state of trance???? why do this to us?
I fully understand people doing some commercial stuff to score some cash- sure, we all gotta pay the rent... but why not do that under another name? Then you could play all the raves under your "commercial" name and trance parties under the one trancers know.
If I show up at a party to hear... mmmm, say...Legohead play...and suddenly legohead is playing some vocal housey trancy rythems...well, that would be the last time I would show up at an event by that promoter...using names to get people to a party is fine- if they are gonna do the music that suits that party..

PS... in no way here am I saying legohead is commercial - quite the opposite, just using as an example           Trance is the answer

A great vocal Psy track is
Nystaagmus- Tommy is Dead
The whole track tells a tale and musically creates an intense atmosphere. I suggest to track it down as each time you listen you hear just how clever the construction of the track and selection of samples really are.

Hope this helps.

Off topic but getting my CDJ`s in two days.

having too much vocals destroys the whole track and its essence but still i wudnt mind small words like teasers or quotes.. they actually spice things up           www.PSYLEB.COM

But it's not singing. Just someone telling a story. So it doesn't count. Enjoy your CDJ's.

Anyway - Talpa - The Moon is indeed mind blowing.

yeah i agree that vocals suck big time...

but i think it's only gonna get worse...
now all these producers figured out that if they want to make it big time they have to put cheezy vocals (infected mushroom anyone?)

and yes it takes away from the psychedelic vibe... when i hear those vocals i feel in a mainstream club in ibiza with a bunch of fake people high on coke...

Vocals in psytrance are fine if they are not too much. This is at least my personal view point, but I don't listen much vocal music in general           .open source
