I reckon we should make a new posting regarding this subject, and see how many really knows, and understands pure psytrance?
A petition in a posting.
Later spam the fu.. out of the labels that release it (Phantasm rec), or?
It has to be stopped! NOW!
Or again : Call it vocal trance like all the other rubbish psytrance spin offs that uses the name trance in it!

I prefer Psy WITHOU vox. If I want vox i listen to other styles of music (ebm, Synth, Pop, alternative etc.)....
Also I mostly dislike guitars in Psy, If i want guitars I listen to metal or darker kinds of rock ) |

Please tell me what you think about vocals in psytrance?
|

Depends on the spirit of the track. Most psy vocals suck because they dont understand what makes a track sound good with vocals.
Synthpop artists, eurodance artists, and to a lesser extent, futurepop artists know how to do decent vocals.
That said, I did hear decent vocals in a system nipel track or two... But they just throw them in the mix like they do with hollywood movie samples.
If you write a four minute full-on pop song, it would sound like sped-up synthpop. That's all full-on really is, sped-up instrumental synthpop with fancy acid lines thrown in over the top, and a frenetic bassline.
It wouldn't sound like euro though, because euro used riffs that almost no one plays anymore... except for the recent release by Alex, which is old-school euro, using the old euro-bass from 94-96.
This explains why when I listened to Rupesh Cartel, their dancier tracks reminded me of full-on, although a little slower. |

Funny this thread should pop up, I just joined the forum and was going to post a message about vocals in psy.... actually looking for recommendations of good psy tracks with vocals. I love the psy sound, and I like a good vocal track, but I hate the weak, soft sound of most vocal trance and that "ooh baby" pop-ish-ness of the more commercial tracks that many people mentioned. Is there anything good out there that's harder edged and has decent, somewhat intelligent lyrics? I find that the vocal trance tracks I like the best tend to be remixes of established artists in the rock/pop world who may have at least put some thought in the songwriting rather than the throw-away "ooh yeah, get me in the studio for a few hours, pay me, and I'm on my way" garbage that I hear when an artist just guests on a track. |

Vocals in psytrance suck and don't belong. Sampling was ok, and even some of the weird vocalised sounds from Shpongle were fun... but voals belong with house music and pop... I haven't heard one track in about oh 10 years of being a part of this scene that was good... it's another carry on from the full on scene which in itself sucks as well!

I think the human voice is one of the most psychedelic things going. But it needs to stay within the concept and feel of the track. I have emo vocals that have nothing to do with Trance and Psy. But it's really the same problem I have with samples - Just make them part of the track and part of the concept, not some out of context warbling. |

Check out " Space Tribes" "Purple Haze", and on the next release from him, there will be a vocal track with his old punk/gothproject. And he will sing himself...
Check some of Phantasm rec. tunes. Hydrogens remake of New Order on "Trancendance". It's a tight production, but the vocals makes it...
Infected Mushroom. I think most of their new stuff contains vocals?
Biotonic' "Cosmovision" XLNT track being done by some cheesy voals.
Z-Man "Vamos Cabron"
Hope this will help?
