They are not from any sample CD.
Mory Kante is an African ethnic/world music singer,
and Yeke Yeke is his song.
The official remix by Hardfloor made the track so popular back in the days. I think.
The sample in Beatnik's track is just a ripoff from the original song.

My guess is he didn't extract the vocals from the track, but that he sampled the part of original track where the vocals are solo, with no drums or other instruments (perhaps the break in the original song).
You can also sample the part of the track with the beat and vocals, and the use the EQ to cut frequencies that you don't want.
I think extracting just the vocal is almost impossible (or at least very hard), but there are real sound engineers here on the forum, perhaps they know more about that than me.
Cheers

Haha!
Don't really need to answer this question - Shuma got it spot on with his answer!
Also tried out a few other techniques, like sampling just an instrumental section and then phase reversing it over a section with the vocals - with the aim of getting clear vocals from it. It worked moderately well, some sections being clearer than others - but mostly just (well, pretty complex) EQ...
And yeah - as for the track... It started off as a cheeky bootleg I'd play during my sets. Because of the Hardfloor remix from back in the day it seemed to get lots of people dancing with happy nostalgic looks on their faces
And yeah - not posting as much on here as I used to perhaps! (in fact been a very long time, but got shown thread by a friend)
Cheers!

BeatNik uses Nuendo. he also makes tea from unicorn horns to give him strength and smokes ground-up fairy wings for inspiration.
