Is creating music only about speed and power?

offcourse not! no one said it is, right?

i just had alot of problems with my first pc and lost lots of hours trying to fix them...and he finally crashed after 3 years.

so if you can buy a very strong pc that doesn't cost too much, why shouldn't you?

if my pc works faster and without crashes and stuff, i can focus better on making music!

More power, more tracks blah blah

It is not always a good thing for the creative process.

How is having a computer that runs soft/hardware without problems a bad thing?           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

r2d2, Please expound what you mean by:

"More power, more tracks ...
It is not always a good thing for the creative process."

Thanks

I think it means he likes to reply to topics with irrelevant, ambiguous deep sounding statements. Just my guess.

Right. It might be cool and challenging at first, but after a while it just gets boring.

At part, I agree with r2d2...
I think is about a consumer action...

The Industry make the stuff obslote (Sorry I dont know the exact word in english) forcing you to buy new releases year by year....

A lot of people link the quality of sound with the stuff updated avaiable(hardware/synths/softwares)...

Lets try to keep our stuff more time "on the road"...
Otherwise we dont will stay at road for a long time...

if you have cubase sx 3 cracked by H2O, it won't work in vista.

well, actually it will, but you better don't try it. i did. i tried to use vista as my main DAW OS but i gave up in the end. after a year using vista i installed xp again and felt huge facilitation. even though i have quite fast (compared to my previos computer) core2duo machine it just doesn't want to work good.
Audio glitches(!) even if only 2 audio tracks are playing without any vst in the project while you are draging the project with middle button.

after doing a bit of reserch on the net ....it seems that vist home edition uses 8gb of space while limited edition uses 15gb.... this imo is too much for an os...although ive had no problems with vista, i still think that my comp would perform better if it were working on a xp os....since it also takes less space around 1.5-2gb and doesnt have all the exrtra graphics...

i also read somewher that u get this software called XPlite that can installed on xp so that u get complete control of the os and switch of all appplications that are not required on ur comp....including stuff like accessories that has games, etc....

another great site on tips for turning ur comp into the ulimate audio workstation is www.musicxp.net

anybody have any experience with XPlite.... ??

cheers
