Virus tips?

I just got a Virus TI (Polar) about a month ago.
Are there any must-know tips I should be aware of?
Maybe certain settings to achieve the psy-sound, or configuration to help performance, etc.

with the fm move the knob step by step to find the sweet spot and detune the oscillator,i remember sometimes i had to detune it from 7 or 8 semi tone to come back to the tune of the key (it was with a virus c but i guess it s the same on the ti ) |

There are some preety useful tips in the Virus Programming Tutorial by Howard Scarr which you can download for free from the Access site. I especially liked:
-getting to know the routing within the synth
-recursive modulation in the mod matrix of envelope values to themselves, which allows you to change the character of the filter
-paying attention to oscillator sync (no more clicks)
-finding out what the "analog boost" and "Punch" parameters do
Going through the tutorials in the manual will show you how to use your TI in a few hours. This is time well invested because after this you will be able to dial in any sound you imagine very quickly. |
