Ahh I had that happen when I opened up really large project files. It started happening with an Ableton project that had close to 4000 clips in it (yikes! lol) and also in Cubase, but when it would happen, certain other DirectX VSTs would do the same thing also. A "band-aid" I used would be to switch my screen resolution to something else and switch back, and after that all plugins would show themselves normally for as long as I had that project open. I fixed it permanently by putting more RAM in my laptop and after that the problem went away.

3.01.12 is out now and seems to have fixed my sync/preset hang/crashing/losing connection issues.
I tested it out by laying on they keyboard using expensive presets and it never fell out of sync, crashed, lost connection, or created ear-piercing static (at least, unintentionally, lol). This will be the first time I can write tracks in Cubase since 3.01.06. (Cubase 3.1.1, WinXP SP3)
Thank God for that, at least. A part of me started to die at the prospect of being forced to produce tracks in Ableton.
Access Support says I discovered a bug in their OS and they forwarded it to their engineers (re: Free Tape Delay causing artifacts and hardware crashes when Feedback is turned up.) They forwarded it to their engineers, w00t.
Apparently Randomizer is still messed up. It creates values the Virus isn't made to handle (i.e. 16 Unison voices instead of the max allowed 8 and other wacky parameters.) They forwarded that along to their techs also.
On an unrelated note, Access Support said No to my idea of sending them my TI in exchange for them sending me a Polar. Haha, never hurts to ask.

quick question i dont seem to be able to find on the site: how many outputs do you have when using usb? Can you use just 3 stereo outputs? Three plugins running at the same time? |

The TI uses up to 3 USB outs, so for example if you use Cubase you can put seperate plugin chains on VTI1, VTI2, and VTI3 in the mixer.
Larrikin:
I haven't noticed any special increase in CPU usage. I use a dell dual core 1.66 and Cubase 3.

You have to go into the common section and change "2 Outs/No Input" to "3 Outs/No Input".

My Cubase SX 3 doesn't allow more than 2 outputs.
Well, too bad. |

Sorry, I should have clarified. You do that in the common section of the Virus Control vsti, not Cubase.
If you see VTI1, VTI2 and VTI3 in your mixer in Cubase than it does.

Did anybody ever check out the difference between the TI and the TI2?
is the difference big? According to an onlineshop, the TI2 has some more fx, delays, distortions and freqshifters. Any experience between the different versions? |
