Oki..., I've sold my virus c desktop a few month ago and I'm going to get a virus ti this week or the next. I'm hesitating between the polar and the desktop.
the price doesn't matter too much I can get a polar for around £900 on ebay while a destop will go at around 600 to 700 quid.
If I get a polar I would like to get rid of my controller. The only thing I'm worried about is the following. If I'm making a new sound with the polar's keyboard on a vst, will I be able to stop a current sound made on the virus from being affected by the keyboard. The reason is I don't like to bounce immediatly I like sometime to live a sound play in real time so I can continue to work on it.
In other word is there a way to assign the virus keyboard to a certain midi channel. I Owned the desktop version of the c so I have no clue about this issue |

hmm , good Q
i would think save your controler for vst and let the virus be as diffrent unit.
but i think you should look more into the polar version + read about the program and what it allow to do... almost sure they will let u do free no worriez , since the patch save in the computer not the TI itself...

I have the Polar TI & i use it both as a controller & a synth. You can play other vst's without affecting any of the 16 channels of the TI. So that's not a problem.

Great ! I think I'll be going for the ti polar then It will save some space plus. between the juno 106 and midi controller I don't have much space left.

I also got a question...
If you do a sound and i wanna keep it as it, how do you do it? you can just save and the "knobs" will "stay" the same next time you wanna use it? Im scared the values wont be the same i have lost soo many already...

Well with the c If you saved the patch there is no real worry since it will sound the same everytime you reload the patch. On the other if you moved the knob after you saved it, the next time you reload your patch the sound will be the right one but the knobs will have a different position. and by looking at knobs on the ti it seems to me thats it still the same story. 360o knobs would be a nice implementation. |

Just imagine the TI as any regular VSTi. You just save your project & it retains everything as normal.
You can open the TI plugin in your sequencer to see how the knobs are on each of the 16 patches.
P.S. Does anyone know of any other hardware synth that can be used as a virtual plugin like the TI? I'm thinking of adding to the arsenal but i don't want to go the old fashioned way of bouncing to audio & cables & all that crap. http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic |

The knob setting on the TI won't matter unless you move it. So the patch settings remain until you select the patch from the TI plugin & then move the knob on the synth.
Hope you get what i mean.

Nope, nothing will change unless you specifically click on the virtual plugin select one of the 16 patches & THEN move a knob.
So all 16 patches retain their information unless you click on them and move the knobs, either with the mouse or the synth.
Think of it as a normal midi controller that has 16 patches mapped to it.

Yeah Seppa, just leave one of the banks on the VST blank and make sure you select it before tweaking another VST.
No problems going between using the TI as a synth and then using as a midi controller. I love my polar! |

I just got desktop 2 days ago and trying to figure out how to use 16 chanels in cubase separatly, so i can put EQ's, compressors, FX on each....or is it posseble to use only 2 chanels that way (vst1 and vst2)?
Thx

Yeah you have to bounce down to audio if you want to do that.
Usually i bounce down stuff from my TI soon as i'm happy with it. This means you can use more sounds, not that i've ever needed them!
