I have Powercore and virus plugin, and few months ago I got to use the Virus TI for a weekend...

The virus TI is killer with new sound banks, but the powercore virus sound quality is every bit as good, just you have no knobs and dials etc...

The powercore plugins are very good, i use the 247c limiting amp alot, the reverbs are great, the EQ is very clean, and all doesnt take any CPU. The virus is same as virus C and you can import all the sound banks from Access site, the DSP chips on the powercore are same kind of chips that a synth uses, so basically you are just missing the physical interface.

I would also like the UAD-1, but then again am saving for the studio electronics se1x digital controlled analogue syth.... and erhm... a lap top... but then i need USB ext powercore... dilemmas...           Cytopia.org

Neither. A Creamware with the Minimoog, Prophet 5 emulations, as well as Modular 3.
I had a Virus B and imho, the Creamware plugs piss and shit over it. Not to mention the fact that companies will keep developing new plugs for their cards that won't cost an arm and a leg to buy.
If you have enough money for a Virus TI and want a new polysynth that sounds good, save up a bit more and get an A6.

yes yes the andromeda would be truly insane 3000 is a lot of money!
but the creamware noah looks interesting, seems more of a musicians tool than the powercore, worth checking out.

i use the virus|powercore a lot and i think that the powercore with the virus plugin is great value for money. the virus is very easy to use, sounds great and on top of that you get some great plugins like eq's and reverbs that help a lot to make good mixes.

Another vote for the Powercore, i was once where you are (deciding which to buy, TI or Poco with Virus) and i'm happy very happy i decided to go with the Poco. You save heapes of money and on top of the virus plugin (which you need to buy extra) you get many great reverbs, eq's and other goodies.           "That's no ordinary rabbit! Virus TI is the ultimate dream machine in form of subtractive synthesis it has up to 80 voices the new hypersaw oscillators and wavetable guidance, not to mention Virus control wich is the sexiest plugin interface access ever made in Software format...
I got mine desktop model since 21 december and im still in the WOW stage strolling thru patches wich only exist in the TI and not in A B C models, because it makes use of the new list of features in the TI series...
I sold my C desktop with 2 years old and bought the TI almost one month ago and im still dealing with all the stuff this baby brings...

I also have a POCore PCI and the Virus POCO is very nice and handy but you have to get the license to have full authorization...and still then you can open a maximum of 4 instances of it saying goodbye to all the DSP juices of the card !!

If you "can" go to the TI series dont look back, its one hell of a synth !!

Like a access synth with a waldorfian scent!!

yes thats the only thing i was worrying about was the number of voices on the powercore, and with the unlimited liscence using all of the chips.
and yeah ive seen that video, fuckin awsome!

I make mixdowns of most sounds that i make with the Virus anyway, so i have never had the need for more voices. But maybe that depends a lot on the way you work.
