Hi guys, i've a virus ti desktop and i cannot create a good psytrance bass yet, do you have any idea? I use cubase sx3 and i control virus with usb connection, so i play it like VST.
its a great synth but i'm not able to have a good sound basses, please help, thanks a lot!

Um..

I have several presets I could upload when I get back to my studio, but they're really standard.

They're all based on the very simple - 1 basic saw osc, no fx, 0 attack, bit of decay, no sustain, adjust release to taste.

Same as any other synth..

Try adding the tuned analogue boost and a touch of distortion. Avoid chorus or spread or you lose punch and it ruins mono.

There is one preset on the Virus Ti Tutorial Bank called ClubBass SV or something similar. This is a very nice bass patch to start with...

try to find a patch under category "drums" named bassdrum 08 or so. i dont know if the patch is in one of the original libs. if not i can send it to you. with this patch you should find out how it's done. cheers martin

Does somebody has some short tip to get a nice psy bass from ti? For example A D S R, or filter env or sub osc, osc 1/2/3, effects ecc, FM, unison....thanks a lot to everybody!

I am interested in some virus patches too, especially psy kicks and basses. It would be nice if you could upload. I am sure there is more users interested..

5-ht there is a tutorial by Howard Scarr that came with your virus, if not it can be downloaded on Access website. It is worth going trough it as you play with your virus. It shows you how to make kicks basses fx and almost everything you are after.

it s a good starting point for a good kick,you can try lfo 1 syncro 1/4 to osc 1 pitch -32 ,unisson twin spread 0 , experiments ...
