the only thing that i feel is despair for trading my C for the TI...

Oh no dude! Not the BigBlackPitOfDespair(tm) ?!
If all else fails you can always go back to using it C-styling via the MIDI ports.
Other things that may/maynot help:
. Buy a dedicated USB 2.0 PCI card.
. Reinstall windows&cubase
. Fiddle with the latency settings
. Try another USB cable
. Unplug every other piece of USB kit you have
You can also try posting at http://www.ampfea.org/pipermail/access-list/
the Access guys are quite present there and maybe you could get some help from someone higher up the food chain ?

Passed all those miraculous problems solvers a long time,"dude" ...
I´ve always used mine the old fashion way..C style,i could never use it in sequencer mode!!
About the BigBlackPitOfDespair,i just think that ppl that are willing to buy may read this kind of statements and DONT buy it for now till access (hopefully) irons out all the shit
If your synth works lucky for you ....
Cheers dude |

Bummer :-/
Have you had any joy from Access tech support ?
It's a crying shame that you're sitting with such an incredible piece of equipment and no way to make it fly :-(

The main problem to me is the constant hangin notes, this all the worst has passed with the sucessive updates...
If i didnt make it "fly" i would return it after one week dealing with all those issues,it sounds amazing ....But those hangin notes happening all the time |

Why thankyar kindly - Im admin over at TI forums - even though I moderate over at infekted.org I have to say I find it a bit too much of a big boys club, along with being quite anti-trance...
Just thought you might like to know that my TI will be going back to the distributor this week - after expressing my issues (timing probs and crackling on the outputs even in single standalone mode over midi not usb) to Marc Schlaile (Access CEO) and Joerg Huttner (head of tech support), they have both agreed that my TI has hardware issues, and will most likely be replaced...
Thats what you get for making the effort to maintain two forums related to the damn thing, and then waiting a year for it to actually be released
Might see a few more of you guys round at www.virusti.com eh? (blatant spam attempt hehe)
cheers

Bah... and you are still getting hanging notes when triggering it via MIDI ?
Don't suppose you have a MIDI sequence lying around which reproduces the problem reasonably reliably ?
If you do I'd be happy to check it on my machine to see if it has the same problem - else it may be that you are one of the very unfortunate few who have a hardware problem.

Very interesting post from virusti.com:
One more thing, I found that The virus would crash when opening sonar and the TI would need a power off and on. This is nothing to do with VC software because I dont have it loaded. I installed a Ferrite ring on both ends of the USB 2.0 cable and this completely cured it.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/full/29788i0.jpg
The cable should be passed through the ring and then passed through again in a loop, one at each end. The effect this has is to reduce interference that passes down the US cable . I have a feeling that the USB interface on the Virus is extremely sensitive and this could be the cause of much of the problems with VC. It is prone to noise just as Cat5 is prone to crosstalk in networks ( I'm a computer technician with a degree in Digital electronics so i'm prone to experimentation when i find problems biggrin.gif ).
If I were access I would reduce USB interface speed to maintain a much more stable solution, and incorporate CRC error checking in the TI side frimware and the VC drivers. This may mean having to scrap something to make other features work better , I'd scrap the audio feed myself.
An example where this has been a problem elsewhere is the Novation Xstation range
