After a false start with 1.2.0 vanishing minutes after it went up 1.2.1 is out again promising some new features and alleged bugfixes for hanging notes but no news yet on arp stability. (Not that arp is that bad on 1.1.1 but it still freaks out now and again)
Busy downloading will feedback later.

Two new features in Virus control:
* Direct Monitoring button on all channels to route any output to analog outs for lowest latency when recording.
* VU-style midi activity monitor on each channel. YES!
AND THE HANGING NOTES ON MY ONE TRACKS ARP IS _GONE_ !!! WHOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! AT LAST!!!
Must admit that since getting the TI I use it for 90% of my synth sounds with only the occasional albino or fm7 patch... it's a luvverly beast and really easy to program

Thanks man, I just got mine...let's see what happens...Do you think that the learning curve on the ti is easier than albino and other vsti for a newbie? |

Yes, so coming from someone who up until a few months ago swore exclusively by softsynths, these are the reasons I believe this to be so:
* Spending a lot of money on a synth is a powerful incentive to learn how to use it properly.
* It's a lot easier to 'dial-in' sounds on the virus than a softsynth - i.e. there are a broader range of settings that sound musical.
* There are less people sitting with the default preset library of a Virus TI than e.g. z3ta or albino which makes for a much more musically inspiring piece of machinery. Maybe less of a deal if you've got a couple of years of synth programming behind you but it makes a huge difference when starting out.
* The VST integration removes the extra workflow steps you used to need with external hardware. This is a huge deal if you're a beginner. I have not-fond memories of having to simultaneously learn cubase & a couple of external synth modules from a few years ago which ended up with me abandoning external hardware for a long time.
* The access synth tutorial is still one of the best out there.
* Lastly, and most importantly, it is a real instrument with real physical knobs! IMO The only thing that beats the feeling of switching off your pc, closing the door and spending the day tweaking your synth front-panel is taking an acoustic guitar down to the beach or the woods for a day.
Enjoy!!

Delay:
*guh* I've run into this as well - dudes at access recommend that you do a control panel->add/remove programs -> remove virus driver and virus software, reboot the machine and then reinstall the driver. Apparently it's caused by left overs from a previous install.
Tutorial:
Look in C:\Program Files\Access Music\Virus TI\Documentation\Tutorials\Programming Tutorial
Vocoder:
Haven't gotten around to using it yet myself
Big plesh!

Did you read the addedum that came with the 1.1 beta update. It gave some setup procedures that were to make it run more smoothly. i have found that i almost get a similar output to what you posted when I changed the buffer size in audio section of Ableton preferences. I saw you are using cubase and although i am not familiar with this software i'm sure there is some buffer size adjustment. Maybe mess around with that a little? it says to change it in increments of 128 samples. (i.e. 128, 256...) Mine is set to 128 samples and seems to work fine. Hope this helps!
Cheers!!

Yup, that's the same problem I had... try manually uninstalling the virus drivers & software and then re-install. Sorted it out for me.
EDIT: Oh yeah... Anachronid has a point too - forgot about that... if I use any setting below 'Fast' on latency things just go to pieces.
G'luck!

Thanks Anachronid is running fine now or seems too...I was running in 4096 samples buffer size, is working with less amounts..strange...
And when I need to increase the buffer size working with a lot of tracks/effects and etc, to avoid clicks and stuff?
Is there any settings that I have to change in the Ti working with a midi device(midisport 2x2)?
I couldn't get any sound out of it...
Thanks guys u r awesome!!!! |

Sounds really nice if they actually have solved all the problems now.. I still heavily consider buying one, I am in love with the sound it makes, and yearh, for hardware-n00bs it will be really nice just to have the Virus Control "VSTi", so thanks for the great news..
