Hi guys , I'm getting stucked of the Logic 7 synths , i've played a real Virus for 1 hour and i'm falled in love with this wonderful -aggressive synt and I wanna buy it , but
the TI is too much expensive for my wallet now.
Have someone tried the TC Powercore version of the virus?
I've found a cheap secon-hand powercore (500€)and the virus plugin is about 300€ from tc (new).
I'm in doubt with Buy this dsp card+virus powercore or continuing to save money and buy a real virus
Buying the TC i'll have some powerful plugins like Native reverb Plus ecc.. , Buying the hardware Virus I certainly have a more confortable setup to tweak sounds and maybe the hardware engine is more powerful then the Powercore version..
What do you think about people?
Cheers

depends really what you want - if its more plugins or a synth
i got a Virus a few months ago, and it has revolutionized my sound and style to the point where I can say it has been the singular most valuable synth purchase I have ever made. the tweakability of the TI through the plugin, plus the hands on aspect of it make it something really special.. Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

There are some major bugs in the Virus|Powercore, and Access haven't bothered to fix those in more than TWO (!!!) years, but it is still my main synth, because it's very easy to tweak and it sounds amazing. Same goes for the Powercore itself. I just love the reverbs on this thing, as well as the chorus/fanger, which is really smooth and subtle. If you have some more money to spend i would also check out the Sony-Oxford EQ, compressor-limiter and Inflator. Those are really a step up from most native plugs.
I would definately buy a Powercore and a Virus|Powercore again.

I have a PoCo Virus and it's great but it aint a TI. It's more like a Virus B.
True, friggin Access haven't updated the dang thing in ages although there are indeed bugs in it. Mostly sync issues with the arpeggiator.
If you gonna buy the thing and thinking of using it as your main synth you must get a decent PoCo with good amount of DSP and the unlimited Virus version. I only have the basic version and an old discontinued PoCo PCI and let me tell you it's a bummer...
On the up side I can say my PoCo is getting used alot more now since a wind of air blew the Sonnox plug pack my way

try to compare a C with a Ti and if you can live with it take the C. there is a lot of other good software these days that comes close to the plugs in the poco.
for mobility virus-poco is super though. realize you have to pay something like €250 extra for virus-multi. but its nice! |

I sold my virus C to get a TI in the near future. Anyway the TI is really good, I spent sometime recently with it and the plugin interface is just amazing...
Used the powercore plugin good sound wise but is not a C and certainly not a TI |

hopefully these cards are not about power but about quality plug-ins wich you won't find with your sequencer's, being the waves, cubase, logic, or whatever

yes i agree side-A but i thinks these cards are out since a long time and need to be updated so it may not be the good time to buy one.i gues new one ll come out soon cause i see lot of users not happy with the power of their cards and native plugs are getting better.people using the oxford with a powercore are amazed how the native one don t use cpu at all . |

I used to have a Virus A. Sold it 6 months ago to buy a 2nd hand poco mk2 and Virus. Sound wise, Virus Poco is very good. The patch library is very efficient as you can access hundreds of patches very easily. On the other hand, I really miss the virus physical interface. Poco Virus is cheap ( I got the card + basic licence plugin for < 400 € on eBay) but the interface of the Ti is really outstanding. |
