How do I add an insert effect to each invividual part (1-16). If I add the effect to the Audio-track, which is monitoring the signal, then it adds the effect on every part.

And what about automation?

Thanks

i never used an hardware synth but you can bounce it to audio, cut it and paste in new audio channels for a much easier workflow. about automation i heard it's heck to setup it, but shouldn't be difficult since there are tons of users here who own a virus B.

If you want to add Cubase effects to a single Virus part you'll basically have to record that part and add the effects afterwards. I use and abuse my Virus B a lot in Cubase, but I never run multiple parts from the synth at the same time. It probably works for others, but for me it just messed up the work flow. I just use it one part at a time, record it, tweak it with effects or what not, then move on to the next thing.           New Album: Jikkenteki - Flights Of Infinity

Automation you can do via sysex, but individual effects on individual synth-lines you need to do as mentioned above.           New Album: Jikkenteki - Flights Of Infinity

midi cc suffices for automation, you don't need sysex in normal situations in my opinion. sysex is system exclusive message content available in the midi protocol for special purposes (e.g. dumps). here's some detail (found by google by the way )
