Looking for a software that allow me to open a virtual machine on WindowsXP that will be able to run application with total independance from the main system. For example: I have now Audio PC without Internet and stripped from most of the parts that will harm the audio process. I want to install a virtual machine that will run WinXP within but will have Internet/Office and stuff. Thanx in advance.

Pavel: vmware server beta (free): www.vmware.com
check what it's capable of, i myself evaluated it as well and it's nice, and getting nicer if out of beta stadium.
if you want to run multiple linux', check out xen. and when intel's and amd's virtualization technology is coming (VT and 'pacifica'), you can run xp on xen too, without modification. until now xp does not run on xen because of licencing problems.
good luck! |

you also could get a cheap p2 450 mhz, use it for net/office and get it into your lan.
as soon everything is set up, you can use vnc (free)to remote access the net/office computer so you don't need another set of keyboard/screen/mouse. all it does is display the screen of the computer in a window on your daw.
it even allows to display dualhead monitor systems.
be sure if you go that route to keep tight security. don't install the vnc server on your daw and make sure that you only allow local network access to the vnc server.
