looks buggy and heavy to me i think i already had it and it is just too heavy

all in one usualy doesn't work.

i have none of those heavy samplers just a waste of my disk space better to have a good library and flexible comfy synths.
all those spectratronics and nexus stuff i just don't dig.

indeed a good diverse library but cmon goliath? its not that big folks. one drum set in bfd is a dvd large. so for REALLY high quality samples your lookin at a minimum of a dvd per instrument and if it includes various articulations, especially articulations you have control over then its going to be much much larger.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

sound synthesis is not the only thing that requires creativity and defines what the output will sound like           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

Yeah! There are millions of bands out the with a drum kit, a bass and two guitars, and they can sound extremely different from one another..

The instrument really doesn't matter, it what you can do with it that counts           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

if i use other sounds i have the feeling my music is no more mine but co produced with the work of others producers too,i like to do the most i can on my own but it s just a personal thing ,if i use samples ,inside of me i would prefer to record them myself...if i would use mostly presets i would thanks the creators in my albums cause it would be their album too.. if you have no issu with this its not a problem it s just a personal thing and have nothing to do with the quality of the music made.

You obviously haven't worked with omnisphere...

Besides, they emulate real instruments. it's like telling a piano player: "yeah, but you didn't synthesize the sounds yourself, it's like just using samples with a midi keyboard. If you want to sound like anyone else: play the piano"

I'd say FINALLY there are virtual instruments who come close to the real instruments and don't sound like casio-violin-presets on 80's synthesizers.
I like the east west stuff but they are memory hogs! Symphonic choir & orchestra running with 2 presets loaded and I'm up to 1.7gb of ram.

well just get a real sample
in the end as you could just export theyre sounds and it will have mercy on your cpu

but as a vsti it is a total waste i think
although it is always good to have another toy           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

daark I'm sorry but have you actually used omnisphere?

"just get a real sample" - lol....

It's amazing software even if you don't use the presets - IDK about you but I think that teams of professional audio engineers traveling around the world for years on end recording samples in interesting and atypical ways are going to be better at sampling than me in my room with no access to thousands of different instruments

It is not 'always good' to have more toys, but Omnisphere is fucking awesome. I seriously don't know why it gets such a bad rap as a "ROMpler" or whatever. You can very easily create sounds that are nothing like anything in the preset library, and probably nothing like what you can achieve on the vast majority of synths.

Hell, I would have it even if it didn't have the 50 gig library because its synthesizer and modulation setup is so great and intuitive

try before you bash imo, I don't think you know what you're talking about :\            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
