...hehe...don t think so...doing a cd by yourself would be easier ( if u ve got the possibilty to make thin film coatings )

doing the "master" for a vinyl ( think it s from nickel )
is not as easy...

and for both variants the problem is to do the scanning-mechanism...i don t think that a selfmade cd / vinyl would fit into buyable stuff...there may come out some noise, but noise in the meaning of noise...

good luck ! -plz let me know if u find something...

there is a home vinyl press from vestax, expensive!           Within this timeless gathering,
a shining light does dance,
lost from conscious memory,
but visible in trance!

...impressive...( vestax )

...but i m shure that the lifetime of such a vinyl isn t as long as from "normal" ones
---> cutting vs pressing...

they are made of carbon ( around 10 % ), resin ( mainly shelac ), lot stuff i forgot,...and vinyl ;-)=

cause of the vinyl they changed theyr name from something like "grammophon record" to vinyl ( evolved around '30 ) cause it was a much better than the old ones ( done with some paper ): less noise and better against scratches and rel.humidity (...and still some ppl had to change some years ago from vinyl to dat...hehe...thnx ! )

first this mix becomes heated ( 100 ° C - 130 ° C depends ) and rolled into big "carpets" and then cooled.
after that into a heated- ( less than the temperature @ step 1 ) -press ( whith the nickel/copper-master )
with approx 80 bar (...don t know, but it s enough ) and cooled again. to finish it needs finyally the finish...           experiment !

Gilad: I have a book (somewhere) that say how to build a home-vinyl-recorder, and using an already recorded disk to record. But its a real amateur, pre-historical way of recording.. if you want I can try to find it..           "These psychedelic substances cause hysterical psychoses in people who have not taken them..."
