I sense a vinyl conspiracy afoot! For those of us in non-dusty/sandy places, lets have more psynil please. Im amazed no enterprising musicwallahs has specialized in selling the shiny black stuff cos there is a market out there! How can we together convince labels/artists to print more vinyl? There seems to be a lot of progressive (mainly German) on LP but little full-on psy. A good 12" is something a little bit...special, I get the impression labels underestimate the advantages of pressing vinyl because of the cost. Que pasa? |

Have you ever heard from such a thing called compact disc, also known as cd? I think that might be the reason.

wot kind of verbal dhiarrea is that travella? I guess travelling doesnt open minds after all. Im a sound engineer, HAVE heard of this revolutionary new medium called compact disc and am aware that the resolution still cant match analog 2" tape or vinyl! Im trying to get at some constructive correspondence with people who might appreciate vinyl and its hands-on feel. And to see what can be done about releasing more of it. The pro-CD camp hardly needs another champion for the cause. Im gonna have to get that vestax vinyl press -has anyone used one before and do they last like normal LPs? |

Sorry mate, that may have come across a little harsh. Im simply frustrated at the lack of fullon vinyl and a reply like that is hardly constructive. If you play CDs - fine. But the scene needs and lives off diversity - Vinyl is a different kind of journey when mixed - so live and let live! |

make 1+1=no market no vynils..

True Zombie, most vinyl is sold to DJs but, especially in UK people have a lot of turntables which they need to feed - and cant!
Full-on on vinyl works too if the DJ's good enough, the sound seems to be warmer. Obviously its hard to do a desert, goa duststomping party with vinyl, but to me it just sounds better! Also hard to carry when travelling, but the discs still deserve more releases! |

im with u on vynil thing.. i prefer vynil sound (only poor mind can say other) and nothing sounds like analog vynil kick..
i also enjoy listening to full on (rare) like sandman with it analog kick come staright from plastic...
better switch to progressive and your life will much easier..

i'll be doing something about this, as much as i can... logical or not, vinyl is just a lot more fun (to me) than CDs...
hmm, tell me this - labels are upset their sales are slipping, yet they all move to CD-only, the format that is so easy to make copies of? forget MP3 pirates, how about all the people that burn audio discs and exchange amongst their dj pals... well thats another situation but for the vinyl its not economical, perhaps completely insane, but totally worth a shot. its like a DIY project... the old "get off your ass and do something about it" solution to complaints well i've been bellyaching for years, now it's time for me to do something about it! |

Vinyl its EXPENSIVE...its simple
Its much more cheap to print cds than vinyl...think that 1 lp costs as 4 cds...plus the paper of the covering and the way of distribution....Vinyl needs extra care dispite of cds
It break more easy,it melts!
Btw playing with vinyl its like a ritual.you have the "direct contact" with the disc ,you can spin it reverse....
Zombi I have Astrals Mahadiva in vinyl the first Koyote such as semsis and miranda,Flying rhino symbiosis and many more great releases on vinyl
I used to hate cds in the beggining....but they win in the end

I read somewhere that the original veterans of Goa preferred Dat's CD's and MD's over Vinyls simply because of the heat. Goa is pretty hot in summers and Vinyls just faded away. So that's one of the reasons why UK is so much better market for vinyls. (I wanna see Oakenfold or Digweed spin CD or worse DAT).
