Hi,
I am searching for a good vinyl restoration software for Windows, to suppress noise and remove clicks and glitches, with minimum damage to the dynamics and spectre of the sound. The content is classical piano music. Does anyone have any good experience with such software? They all promise that they are the best and the only =))

Adobe audition has the best software restoration tools I think - full spectral control and so on.
another thing to bear in mind is that if the record has become warped you will get a low-frequency signal that is the same as the RPM of the record. - eg for a single that's 45 Rpm which is 0.75 Hz. You can corect with DC removal or a highpass brickwall filter, but you might be better to do noise reduction using the leadout (the last few grooves near the center of the record) as they will usually not have as many scratchy noises. |
