anybody seen the vintage emulator for ssl, neve, oxford compressors and eq???? i heard its pretty good, anybody has this??? does it sound nearly as good as the actual strips??
this is a hardware controller, but i still dont know if you could consider it hardware, cause the compression and eq is done thru a soft synth.
any comments?????
if its as good as it sounds we should all considering getting one yeah/??

I picked one up and really like it as well. Great sounding compressors and eq's.. EQ's are not the greatest for precision band cutting, but great for adding tone and warmth..
I just use the AU interface not the hardware. I have never heard the originals, but big named producers who have give it great reviews.
I have had no issue running it on the 828 MkII's Fire Wire thru port. Running on a Macbook Pro..

I am thinking about getting this one too. I have one question how much latency is there and can it be rendered only in 'real time' or can this one also be used if u want to render not in realtime?
If anyone knows this would be great

Just bought mine, it's still in the box. What can i say is that it sure looks sexy..... Regarding the latency i think it's fixed on 1024 samples but Focusrite will release early on April the v2 software where latency will be fully adjustable from what i read, among a lot other improvements.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |

if u got protools good luck in other werds ur fucked u got to set up all the other tracks that dont have the plugin with a latency of 1024 samples if i remember quite sure if u use other sequencers such as cubase, live etc then ur fine those programs do it automaticly hehe lol so if u got protools good luck its gonna be a pain in the ass if no protools go for it!!! don't think it over too much its fo sure worth it i recommend it... i like the look of it too looks really slick and sexy!@ peace
EYB u can definitly work with it in realtime with no problem so dont think it over too much u wont regret it hope those words make u feel more at ease at dishing out that cash
just make sure u got a pcifirewire card just for it thats a have to kinda thang especially if u got other firewire hardware such as the rme fireface 800 BOOM PEACE |

Is that on an LE or M-Powered ProTools? The HD version will compensate the latency of plugins for you. (Unless there is an issue with the Liquid Mix and ProTools in particular).

Even if the latency is compensated, it still is there. That can be a problem for playing softsynths from a controler keyboard or for headphone mixes or if you want to monitor an external source with plugins running as inserts on that signal in your DAW.

He is asking if bouncing/freezing can be done in faster than realtime or if the Liquid Mix can only bounce/freeze at realtime speeds. In other words, will he be doing alot of waiting and thus souring his Liquid Mix experience.
I've wondered that too myself but never asked about it... So, which is it?

as far as that protools questions thats what the guys at focusrite told me whether it pertains to both of those mentioned i wouldn't know so your best bet would be to call em up and get the 100% definit answers to all ur questions im just trying to help with the most information that i know off im not their tech support lol!!!
but im always glad to help out as much as i can.. i do wat i can...
but if ur really concern and must know it all the easiest n most informed way would be to contact them directly that should get all ur worries resolved b4 the purchase...
as far as latencies are concern they're nothing huge that would fuck up ur work flow for me it hasnt i had the same worries as u all did when i purchased but now that i have i realize it aint bad nor noticeable and works just fine no complains here... besides even with plugins u get latencies is the technology for now until some trailblazin technolgy pops but we can't wait for it now can we...
think of all those 80's tracks and look what they had compared to us now days we very much so better off than the good old 80's hehe
with all honesty its a real good piece im really happy with it and wouldnt depart from it... it sits really nice on my main desk and doesnt take much space and the dynamic control and eq's are fantastic!!!
no regrets period... call em up and find out more or test it out at a store or buy it and return it if it doesnt suit ur needs which i doubt wats the worst that can happen u pay a restock fee which is cheaper than if u would have rent it... u cant lose peace BOOMbastic |

ps. if i stated:
so dont think it over too much u wont regret it hope those words make u feel more at ease at dishing out that cash..
is because i truly believe in the product and feel its already a great product... and the latency stated cant be really noticed... works for me in my set-up..
but this is based on my opinion so be my guess and find out for yourselfs good luck! |
