when i said lamest, i didnt mean it's technical side. i meant the user's approach to it and the way it was misused. p2p isn't all about trading mp3's and porn.

Well my music horizons arent so wide now that AG is closed.
I will probably miss some great music just because i wont be able to find it anywhere and downloaded it.And offcourse i cannot buy 100 cd's per month just to experiment with music.

There is a replacements but I won't mention them here as they are more like Npaster, Morpheus and Kaza - and it is a total p2p system..
Although the interface for Audio Galaxy was crap the main thing positive about it was that artists were able to block downloading on request.
At least there was hint at minimal respect..
All RIAA has done is made it a free for all again..
Gotta love greed.. it blocks common sense..
An artist makes a small amount of income from CD sales which is vital for sustaining the art but at the same time making new artists available opens the door to a bigger world..
I wouldn't even blink at parting with with AUS$60 for a party if I wanted to go see the artists and if the play multiple shows I would pay multiple dollars.. in the end a performing artist makes more off their shows from a individual than they would received from an individual CD sale..
I happily sit in on the fence on this issue but blocking access to new artists only is going to make it harder for upcoming foreign artists (and local artists to some extent)..
At the end of the day I will part with my cash on those who deserve it and I couldn't care less about someone ripping off Auto-Tune singers like Shit-Me Beers (Brintney Spears)..
