that only artists/lables can post.
well this is just my opinion.. i think there is little disrespect to the old/yellow members.
i mean it is JUST top 10. why to be so intransigent ? we here to have fun.. so OK, this forum does'nt support trade stuff and i think its great but I think you choose the wrong solution.
If u ask me there is the top 10 section in the website itself and i think its a great place to post once a month top 10 from the big artists/labels.
after all this forum is also for us the little yellow members..

Sputer, You are registered here for almost 3 years and You seen all our history and things we came through. Top10 been always a problematic section and we changed our rulez several times. This time we decided to limit post or to close it. So for now only Artists and Labels are able to post to make this section more interesting and attractive. To avoid the killa topics and useless users to join(sorry but there are some). May be later we will allow certain members (like full members) to post there but not now. We are adapting ourselves to the reality and trying to keep the forum interesting and informative. Try ask yourself "why did they do it" before posting a question. I am pretty sure You will find a good answer;)
p.s. Hope top10 section ain't your primary category here ;)

Wow! Massive respect for making the new rule, I think in the end it'll make this forum even better. Sure we'll lose some members, but if they only cotributed top10s in the first place.. well it's not much that we're losing IMO

It's about time that this would happen.
Actually, in my opinion, those that really care about new music, would love to hear what is new in some artist's / label's sleeve. Definitely it is much more interesting than to see what new unreleased killa some dude found on Kazaa

i think its kinda elitist to just let artist and labels post top 10s. its like everyone elses taste of music isnt good enough, but isnt music made for the listener, and not just for fellow dj"s?
during my 2 years of membership here i only posted 2 top 10s. just released music by the way, and i liked the idea that i could share my fav tunes with fellow listeners. on the other hand i found and bought so many records from looking up other "normal" users top tens, people that i know have the same taste as i

aje, the reason behind this move was not to create an elitist seperation between users and artists/labels. the reason was to diminish the amount of trading going on at a site/forum that bases itself on anti-piracy. the idea of "being used" for purposes contradicting the guidelines was something that we lived with for too long and something had to be done.
if u notice what ShivaS wrote above you will see that the option of full members posting again is something that we will keep open and see if that can come back.
we were having to deal with alot of "junk" posts of people who just wanted to post their top10 and nothing more. granted its extra work for the moderators (why we have so many to begin with) but its also a nuisance for the regular readers... topics like: "what is trance" posted in 10 diffrent countries just as a mean to go and post a top10 inorder to trade.... thats a slap in the face to one our very core ideas.

no, this is cause we figured that if traders reply - they will once again work their way around us... no replies means nobody knows who's got it or not.. that was key.
it was either this or deleting the whole section... (which still as ShivaS said is an open option) lets see how things progress. "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

it makes it much less interesting and attractive, imo. i went to that forum to see what _normal users posted - what they liked and which tunes and albums are worth checking out. now most of the stuff artists and labels post is their own stuff and maybe their friends'. little to do with what's actually good music, more to do with how to make a buck.
