V/A - "Antenna Vol. 1" [Stargate]
1. Vibrasphere - "Ice Flow"
Nice melodies, nice atmospheres, nice gentle rhtythms, nice piano, nice.
2. Kaya Project - "Twin Soul"
Good percussion & groove in this track. Female vocals in a language I don't recognise. This track's nice too.
3. Aes Dana - "Iris Rotation"
This one's on the album. It's quite good. Very deep with excellent percussion.
4. Puff Dragon - "Shimmer (Piano Version)"
Nice enough track, didn't really do too much for me though.
5. Unexploded Bomb - "Untold From a Renegade"
Nice ambient intro. Pretty standard breakbeat rhythm, although it does suck you in after a while. Drags on a bit.
6. Digital Mystery Tour - "Forest Bump"
Some pretty quirky sounds in this. Pretty good track, but I was expecting more.
7. Omnimotion - "Observer"
Quite like this one. Nice rhythm & tempo to it. Like the guitar but not too sure about the acid lines in the background.
8. Makyo - "Devabhanda (Tantric Laswell Remix)"
Well this is the sort of lovely epic dub number that you'd expect when Bill Laswell remixes Makyo.
9. Solar Fields - "Velvet Reptile"
Very clean sounds well programmed & sequenced makes this quite good.
Overall, pretty good but not great. Mostly re-releases from what I can gather. I don't have any of the originals except the Aes Dana track so it works for me, especially the Bill Laswell remix of that Makyo track.. yummy!
